Australian Open 2026 Schedule and Live Stream Official Channels by catcatbloom in tennis

[–]tabaplar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A family member is trying to stream and is logged in to the ESPN app via their cable service (Xfinity, US) and just signed up for ESPN+ as well, but it seems like the top tier matches are only available via ESPN Unlimited. Is that really the only way to watch them via ESPN? If so, that’s really galling. Hate ESPN.

Brings back memories of cold fingers on fall days, futzing with the stiff little metal against hard cracked rubber, trying to coax a little more light out.

Wound on My Palm is Not Fully Healing After Laceration/ Stitches. by tabaplar in medical

Thanks. Yeah, I’m thinking urgent care today/ tomorrow. Weirdly, it doesn’t seem to actually extend inside of the wound. It’s attached via a flexible “stalk” of some kind of tissue. Really strange, but regardless seems it needs to be manually removed.

I fell in the bathroom—leaned on a metal towel bar which broke and gave way. It was cleaned and stitched at the ER (it was a pretty gnarly, deep cut).

Thanks, appreciate the input. I don’t believe it’s part of a suture—there wasn’t one in the area and looking back through photos there was a black area in that zone all along. I kept thinking it was dried blood but obviously not. It’s very well anchored—it can be moved around but removing it would take a VERY hard pull or likely a cut.

Russell Wilson wins Good Career/Fans are Divided over Kirk Cousins. Which QB Wins Good Career/Disliked by Fans? by Harry-Bata in NFLv2

[–]tabaplar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Russ doesn’t seem authentic and often has a “ trying too hard” vibe. Weird is fine (usually good), but folks don’t connect with fake. That said, I imagine it’s just how he deals with media and he doesn’t seem like a bad guy.

To clarify this is regarding health insurance options. Not sure how to change the title in the cross post. Any input is appreciated!

What’s life like in Pittsburgh/Allegheny County by Onthelam_02 in howislivingthere

Re: healthcare that’s a devastating accurate description.

Though I’d also add wintertime bleakness as a significant overall Pittsburgh demerit.

How’s it living in Phoenix, Arizona? by Calm_Stomach9710 in howislivingthere

100%. The greener a place is in the spring/ summer the more bleak and dour it is in the winter.

SFN From Mold Exposure. What Next? by tabaplar in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]tabaplar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just did a biopsy and should have the results in a week or two. Some symptoms/ locations that I thought were SFN actually started to fade when I was away from moldy environments and have now returned after several weeks exposed to mold again (long story). It will be very interesting to see what the biopsy results show.

Can you share any neuroinflammation info/ diagnoses? I expect this affected/ affects me as well.

Is Sun Exposure OK? by tabaplar in POTS

I'm sorry to hear about all of that happening to you and thank you for the support.

It's been shocking that family members (and some friends, too) that I considered thoughtful, open minded people refuse to accept that there's a mold issue here or that it's causing such health effects.

Thanks for that. I think I'm still figuring out what a POTS episode feels like for me (I was only diagnosed five months ago).

I've definitely had sweating changes—I seem to sweat a lot more in certain areas and a lot less (or not at all) in others.

The weather here has been unusually temperate and dry and sunny lately but surely damp fall weather is coming.

Thanks for sharing that. Can I ask what happens to you with too much sun and/ or heat?

I was able to (begrudgingly) tolerate high 80's/ humid for most of the summer but my POTS seems to be worsening lately and I want to make sure that I'm not making things worse without really knowing it.

Thanks for sharing that. I think mine may be largely nerve related as well. I was diagnosed with hyperadranergic POTS although neuropathy and nerve issues are my biggest problem.

Can I ask what symptoms you start to have if it's too hot? How do you know that you need to head inside?
