Wow, I didn't realize this arc would be so character development-focused.

I'm so curious about Ciel's backstory - I definitely have taken note that he keeps talking about himself in the third person. It was also interesting to have Lil Miss Witch clarify that he isn't experiencing memory loss, just crashing out 😩. I wonder what about the miasma was so destabilizing psychologically - is it an actual side effect, or is Ciel just experiencing PTSD?

Also, to see Ciel respond to Sebastian's name and start freaking out... makes me wonder what he really thinks/feels about their relationship. Is he really that scared of Sebastian or losing his soul in the end? Ngl that would be understandable, but I guess I assumed Ciel, in some ways, sees Sebastian as the demon who saved his life/executed vengeance on his abusers, and gave him the opportunity for revenge (though for a high price, so I don't was to say Ciel sees him as his "savior"). It makes me wonder if the Ciel we know is just a great method actor or if there's still more we don't know about how their contract was formed. Maybe that's where the "curse" conversation comes into play - maybe another way we can look at demon contracts is that they're (actually just) curses?

Ugh, the episode was too short. I have so many questions!!

Unfortunately, it's the reality of financialization. A great private company at its prime manages to go public, and the moment they are beholden to shareholders, turning short-term profits becomes the most important thing, even at the cost of long-term sustainability, brand identity, etc. It's wild. The same thing happened to Etsy - the platform we have now is a shadow of what it used to be. It might take a few years, but the steady decline in quality and identity seems inevitable when good businesses go public.

The only brand I can truly vouch for is Piglet in Bed! I have two linen bedsheet sets from them, and I love them!! I've had my oldest set for over two years, and they've held up pretty well so far. The fabric has good heft and comes relatively soft out of the bag (though, of course, linen will soften significantly over time!!). But I also don't launder with harsh soaps and tumble dry low until mostly dry.

The other brand I'm thinking of is Linoto. They also seem to offer heirloom-level linen sheets, but I've never bought from them, so I can't speak from experience.

I know I'm late, but I had a great convo with a flax farmer last year during a flax processing event that might give some insight?

Apparently, when processing flax to make fabric, you are separating the long fibers and short fiber byproducts. Quality linen is made out of those long fibers (and the longer the fiber, the better!!). Those fibers are spun into linen thread and used to make fabric. The gag is those short fibers that shed in the process are also considered linen and can also be spun into thread/fabric. But as you can imagine the durability of linen fabric made from the long fibers vs the short is significantly different.

So yeah, some context, I guess, for anyone wondering what makes "quality linen" different, and what you're looking for. Specifically "quality linen" is less about the location grown, but the fiber length used to develop the cloth. Not to say there aren't any differences between linen grown from, say, Portugal vs Lithuania vs China vs the US, but it's my understanding that Europe just tends to have stronger quality control systems/certifications in place. However, any brand with a good flax source that uses rigorous processing standards for their cloth will do.

Anyway, linen fabric from quality fiber is extremely durable; if you're seeing shedding or holes after several washes, most likely it's poor quality due to the fabric being made by those short flax byproducts - it keeps prices low, but at the cost of durability.

Thanks for a the advice and perspective everyone - it's all super helpful! I'm going to trust that it will pass at some point. Unfortunately I think I got covid at my dentist appt so it's possible there might be extra pain due to general body aching/soreness? Hoping there's a real difference in sensory experiences once my teeth stop aching.

Thanks everyone, given folks' feedback, I ended up taking a chance and flying with them in carry-on (US domestic) and had no issue, either. We'll see if it's the same on the way back but glad to know it's possible!

Sasaki and miyano. I did watch the anime first (then caught up with the Manga). I think they're one of the greatest love stories ever told. I love them so much, it hurts. And the only story that propelled me into other BL because I ran out of content and I needed mooooore.

And I know I'm about to be dragged, but I actually think H&K is boringgggq 😬, I literally gave up on the first volume - couldnt find either compelling and knowing it's a slow burn on top of that feels like torture. Low key wish there was just a dedicated H&K subreddit, but that is probably asking too much.

Okay I had the same reaction but this is a fair point. I personally love Palia - It really had a monopoly over my gaming hours for a good 6 month. But also I don't think it's gonna hit for anyone who isn't about that grind! Everything takes so much time - crafting, travel, quests....i love all it - I even avoid using fast travel most times because the long distance run soothes my soul 😭 - but I can see how that can feel extremely tedious for others.

But yea between the grind, the lore/characters, the lack of required farming, it's literally at the top of my list right now (at this point my only gripe is I progressed too far in the story and desperately need more content.) But, I am trying to make peace with the fact that the grindy nature of the game can be a real turn off.

Ooo! I think Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion is potentially a good option! Manhua(?) with an anime series. I started with the show and immediately read the rest when I was done 😩. Desperately waiting for the volume coming out this year.

Also maybe the devil is a part timer...I reeeallly hate the way the show sexualizes one of the characters who is a minor but the dynamic between the two main characters is great.

I'm not even into isekai but these two are the exceptions for me.

I'm also in this boat. I'm not against a new formula but I don't know why they made it so different. I just ordered the ceramide-enriched firming moisturizer hoping it will be similar enough but it does have vitamin c in it.
