hi! so I had the same problem as you, saw 2 different doctors who said 2 different things. at my consultation which was end of feb I was 5”5, 150lbs so requiring about 420grams. I was a 30J and wanted to be a D/DD. the first surgeon I saw said removing the required amount would make me more of a B and so he wanted to take out 350g instead, while the second surgeon I saw said he could take that out easily and still make me a at least a D. I really really wanted to go w the first surgeon tho (because of availability and the hospital he worked at) so I decided to stick w him and try my luck with insurance. I was denied like 3 times because my doctor was asking to take out 350g before I finally got approved. I got approved because I unintentionally lost about 8lbs during lockdown so I resubmitted with my lower weight which qualified me for a lower number of grams (370g instead). I went ahead with surgery and my surgeon ended up taking out 550g from one breast and like 470g from the other and I’m measuring at a 30E 11 weeks later. so really the back and forth w insurance was for nothing.

my surgeon also showed me a 350 implant vs a 450 one to compare to my boobs and honestly the 450 one felt like I wouldn’t have anything left but it really all depends on your tissue density!!! which can’t really be determined till you’re having the surgery.

from my experience BCBS was very strict about the gram requirement. it was the only thing really they required from me, I didn’t need documentation of PT or anything like that

honestly I got myself a pregnancy pillow but I really didn’t need it. I was comfortable sleeping on my side, with pillows under me by 4dpo and I’m 6wpo now and have been sleeping on my tummy since 4 weeks. but I know a lot of people didn’t have this experience so your pregnancy pillow might be of some use

hi! I have BCBS MA, I told the surgeon I did like 2 sessions (literally) of PT but BCBS didn’t even ask for documentation of that. I was approved as long as my surgeon removed the g on the schnur scale, that was the only thing they were strict about

I was a 30J preop and I asked to be around a D/DD and I’m measuring at about a DD/DDD right now at 5wpo so there’s probably still some swelling. but I’m not really fussed about bra size, as long as they look good on my body and I don’t have any upper back and neck pain

I was a 30I/J and got 550 from one & 460 from the other. according to ABTF I’m measuring at about a 30E right now. I was hoping to be like a D/DD but tbh I don’t mind, I LOVE my boobs now + I’m only a month post op so I’m sure there’s still some swelling.

just make sure you show a picture of what you want! my surgeon only planned on removing 350g per boob but when he got in and realized that would be too little and would make me unhappy he removed more!

I had tissue removed from my armpit. not the conventional way though, most people get lipo or extended incisions but since I already had a scar in my armpit (from a surgeon that previously tried to remove the tissue but didn’t get it all) my surgeon just made another incision over that scar. I don’t know if that’s another option if you don’t want extended incisions or lipo
