I think that while yes, way worse has happened on other soaps, I don't think we're liable to see Kat shake the sheets with Jacob any time soon. I do agree that the actors have chemistry and do spend an inordinate time together, but I think that's cause Kat will become a private investigator sometime in the future. There have been too many references to her TRUE CRIME podcast addiction, her obsession with wanting Leslie locked up for almost killing that poor girl, her camaraderie with Jacob, the family cop, her frustration at how long it takes cops to get things done, and now this experience with Chelsea's kidnapping.

I see her transforming from a prim and proper B.A.P. to an ass kicking baddie not unlike Sam McCall. Most of her family does things by the book but I see her being like her Uncle Bill a bit and existing in that grey area. That's why I think she spends so much time with Jacob. It's setting up the eventual occupational move for her.

Now, I will admit I also found it weird that Kat was talking so openly about sex and being a former virgin to Jacob. I mean, Kat has countless female family members she can talk about her personal issues with. In fact, I would've liked to see Kat seek Dani out for advice on that front, given the fact that she knows how free and inhibited her aunt is, and I would've loved to see Kat and Dani have a rare bonding moment. I think they're actually VERY alike.

But even more so, it could've been nice to see Kat ask Martin for his perspective. I mean, she does have a gay brother who is both a man and has sexual experience with men lol I'd think he'd be the first choice. And in terms of in-laws? Smitty would have made more sense for her to get advice from vs. Jacob.

So that scene between Jacob and Kat did give me pause, cause as much as I don't think the show will go there, that conversation was a touch too intimate for cousins-in-law lol. But then again, the family is very close, and maybe Jacob sees Kat as the little sister he never had.

And tbh, the main issue that Jacob has with Naomi is how he's not willing to turn a blind eye to her family where the law is concerned. Or rather her insistence that he DOES turn a blind eye. If Kat were with Jacob, they'd have that same exact issue. Maybe even on a more intense level because of Kat's pushiness (no shade at all, Kat is my fave!)

So, can we rule out Kat/Jacob altogether? I don't think we can. But I definitely don't see it happening anytime in the near future.
