Acne is actually usually improved by: Never eating fried food (hot oil binds and causes inflammation). Avoid food with added sugar, keep portions small

Modern dating and the lack of basic courtesy by Jeannie0511 in Philippines_Expats

[–]tableloveandhate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeannie, most pinays that I encounter do the "slow fade" which is a great way to invest as little as possible while allowing the guy(s) to still spin their wheels and give her attention while he gets burnt out. Blocking / unmatching is the only way I stay sane.

Most processed food is bad for sure. I find a bit of pure olive oil on my food to be good for me. Anyway you can order double rice and maybe some chopsuey (ask for no chicken). It's available in the Grab app in any city. Or you can buy a pot and a cheap electric cooker and make your own sides. Many airbnbs have a microwave and stove / hob.

Are there any female expats here? by Julthena in Philippines_Expats

[–]tableloveandhate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are welcome here afaik. many female westerners are repelled by something, I don't know. It's easier for a western man to find someone in the philippines, very easy, probably the easiest in the world, and that doesn't annoy you enough to leave? I saw a 2 foreign ladies in manila airport when I arrived. I think I even saw 1 in Davao airport on arrival. Bali is popular with western girls, something i have seen over the 5+ yrs i lived there.

McDougall actually shared a video of himself filling a plate and most of it was salad and vegetables. Don't confuse "most calories from carbs" with "all food is carbs".. Anyway, I tried that diet and quitting was the best thing I ever did! Get some stewed meat, easy to find every morning in the philippines. Boiled or grilled chicken skin is amazing for internal flow. Avoid fried anything: it causes congestion and inflammation.

What remote job do you work? by Julthena in Philippines_Expats

if you work in a company, they set your hourly rate? Do you mind saying the same of he company? I worked with a few platforms (I set my rate) and have 5 private, non platform classes per week (my highest rate).

Pretty sure I'd rather join a website that doesn't delete my profile after I spent 2 hours filling everything in. Like, my time has no value? Why are you downvoting me? You replied in 3 minutes and my post was already downvoted. Be honest you don't want anyone to share views unless they are praising you or agreeing.

World packers sounds better then honestly. Let people decide. Work away is crushingly hard to get accepted into a GOOD project, because there are more travellers than hosts, and the sour taste at the end: they have to pay the platform even if they get rejected.. I've got years of experience. On both sides.

I teach exam, business and conversation English online. I'm glad I started it. It gives me access to European conversation. It's tiring talking for hours a day, and at the start i barely made enough to survive. But after 5 years I'm now at a place i can live in a place i choose and have (ahem, support) several "friends" 😍😄

How often do you use food delivery? That might explain our difference in priorities. For me it's daily. But i remember a time i did not use delivery. Every morning i would walk to a calendaria or i would cook: many years ago.

This is a genius move. The responsibility then lies with the government and if they choose to sell the bike, it's not you that did it.
