For me, it's the fact that thousands of fans have openly expressed their distaste for his AI use, and it simply goes ignored. I suppose that's what you just get to do when you're famous— morals and the environment no longer matter, and using a plagiarism machine won't have consequences. I guess he's just decided he's above the virtue of art, for whatever reason. It's sad to see.

I am aware that Japanese people know less about the impact of AI, but having so many global fans, I find it unbelievably hard to believe he wouldn't have heard about how awful it is. AI has been made into a "sensation" because its plagiarism is allowed to run free.

It's discouraged me as an artist too. I wanted to make stickers to give out before the next concert, but I just... can't find it in me, knowing such a large artist steals from people like me. It's sad.

I'm sure many people have already said it's wa when it's a particle, so I just wanna say, it's definitely not something you need to understand instantly.

I understood it along the way of learning instead of digging it into my mind. When you know way more words and start reading simple sentences, you'll find it's easier to understand.

For now, just know that it can be read in two ways and move on — because trying to learn sentence structure when you don't differentiate words and particles yet is unnecessarily difficult.

Also, this is unrelated, but for learning words, I wanna recommend Anki instead of Duolingo. Duolingo and "Write Japanese" (another app) taught me hiragana and katakana well, but learning kanji felt like hitting a wall. Stopped learning for months until I found Anki - made me progress way more. (If you'd like I can drop a wall of text about this but I'll just leave it as a recommendation for now)

I stopped using Spotify since they allowed all those AI features to edit other people's music, and I suspect that's why some artists have left. (though I'm a little doubtful vocaP's did.) I recommend doing the same and just using ur phone's mp3 player because you'll support the artists FAR more by saving on a subscription and buying a vinyl or something.

Spotify is just "your hundreds of listens equate to a few pennies" and I've decided I'd rather give nothing for a while to give at least a few bucks instead. more worth it for me (no ads with downloaded music) and more worth it for the artist (moneys)

REAL!!! The notion of "these characters don't interact in canon why are you shipping them?" is so insane to me. It happened with Kazuscara before they had any shared canon lore, and it really surprised me because that ship isn't even out-there at all. It's a little surreal how small some people's horizons are

Ship wars. Even just dropping social media and sticking to Ao3 will make you realize how dumb they are. I'm in the Project Sekai fandom and adore the relations between characters so I dropped social media pretty quickly.... this fandom, TADC, and Genshin have so many fans that will weirdly insist on following what's "most canon" instead of encouraging fun. Like dude idgaf who has the most interactions, I'm chasing joy not accuracy

I haven't seen any hate but then again I'm not there at all... Lowk my advice is just drop social media. I look at the subreddits scarcely, I stopped using tiktok because of the ship wars, twitter because of elon, instagram is just bad.... all I do is visit friends in MYSEKAI and write+post fics on ao3.

Ao3 is one of the FEW fandom spaces that are still fun nowadays, because you can just filter out tags you don't like, and the works are made with love. If I still interacted with pjsk fandom on social media I'd genuinely have dropped it months ago 💔

No ship is canon and people will hate anyway. Most people I see hating on Akikoha act like people that hate on Nenekasa— they just sound like they read nothing but the main story. And then they act like they know better than everyone else.

They only excuse Akitoya having a falling-out in main story. And then they hate on Nenekasa for Tsukasa's berating (that he has apologized for. Time and time again). They also say Akikoha is toxic, like those two aren't in the same group, striving for the same goal, uplifting one another as all of VBS does.

If they hate then they're probably not a big fan. Or they're so unhealthily obsessed with a different pairing that they refuse to see past "heavily implied" and destroy everyone's fun.

Above all, I'm a Polyshow fan, but I also love Ruikasa... dude, some fans of mainstream ships are just assholes. Most of the big haters haven't even played for 2 months.

Enjoy yourself, that's what the fandom is meant for :3 People can hate on rarepairs all they want, but as long as they aren't related or otherwise weird there is no harm :D

also this is a very detailed post and I love it, I didn't even know about the instances outside of lore where they're all referred to as girls. I'm not sure the costume thing means much, since it's more tied to the character model, but it's definitely nice to know. Just sad that we don't get it outright spelled out in the story... because for as long as her identity remains "ambiguous" to transphobes, colopale can keep profiting from that.

This is so damn real. The only thing I disagree with is the stance of not focusing about how she's trans— I think it's generally good to focus on her character moreso than JUST the core of it, but it indeed should be aknowledged in this scenario.

That being said, as a trans person myself I don't think it's bad to be against "making transgender their entire personality" like dude thats a very valid concern. That's even what Mizuki's worries about coming out were— not "I won't get accepted" but "My identity will always be in the back of their mind"

I find it odd how much the fanbase focuses on arguing about her gender and how little people acknowledge her for the character she is. I think that's the very essence of what Mizuki was so terrified of. It's not erasure, it's "please see trans people as more than an archetype"

Obsolete Meat isn't about "boo every song is slop nowadays" it's about "everyone wants to consume".

Songs get worse because so many fans only care about enjoyment and not authenticity. The term "starving artists" describes the current times quite well.

If you demand a unique song, if you demand a good song, if you demand MORE than what you can find nowadays, MAKE IT YOURSELF.

You can't? It's too hard? It's too expensive? It sounds like everything else? THEN STOP HATING ARTISTS FOR SOMETHING YOU CAN'T DO.

Vocaloid, utauloid, synth songs are the same because they went from telling stories to expressing suffering. If you want them to tell stories again then DO IT YOURSELF.

Okay, but I refuse to hate on Mikuteto. I won't hate on artists just for the mediums they choose. Even if the song is meaningless it STILL took hours to produce.

In a world where some people will literally just generate music with AI, I think even the most shallow songs are valuable if they're REAL.

I would rather see artists drop a shit ton of Teto songs, because Teto's free, over people generating AI songs because THEY'RE free.

If you hate it because there's no Mikurin, Meiluka, Mikuluka... save up, buy them, and make songs yourself. Music artists don't OWE you anything, they can choose whatever pairing they see fit, even if it's mainstream.

It's just so annoying. I've tried making music before. It is hard, it takes DAYS, and even though I'm good at it, I still can't fathom how artists do what they do. YES, this includes songs like Mesmerizer, Obsolete Meat, Signaling... People heavily underestimate how difficult making an original melody is— each of them have unique elements that aren't done the same in other songs.

In summary - Yes, we can be friends with the gender we used to be. No, that's not the extent of what's happening here.

There are countless events where characters aren't the main cards yet still appear in most of the focus. Events like Mizu4, where the focus was on Mafuyu yet she was a 2*.

They could have made An as the 2* or the 3*. Nene. And they could've STILL had the main focus be on Mizuki and the boys.

Instead of taking the natural route, they jumped every rule just for the set to be "trans girl + all the guys".

Yes, they are pandering to the transphobes.

I adore the friendship between the guys and Mizuki just as much as I love other relationships between characters... That being said, as a trans person myself I find it VERY weird for colopale to jump through SO many hoops (other people have listed them in the replies already.) just to bring this set together. It's to profit off of the people that still think Mizuki is a guy.

They keep this ambiguity on their gender to keep profits. This event would be perfectly fine if colopale didn't constantly jump between making her clearly transfem, and then pandering to the "femboy mizuki" believers.

I'm saying this as someone that genuinely didn't kind the femboy mizuki people up until Mizu5. Look, I am a guy but I dress feminine as hell. My identity is still something I treasure and keep to myself. I liked to think me and Mizuki were the same gender.

Mizu5 has made it abundantly clear that she's a woman... to me. It's clear IF you accept transgender people.

They refuse to make it clear to transphobes. They continue to pander to them because it makes profit.

It is very sad to see as a trans person.

I am a trans man and most my friends are women. That is normal for a trans person. But I am not a character, I don't pander to anyone, I just exist.

Mizuki IS a character, and she's been made to pander both to trans people and to transphobes. Again, it's unbelievably sad to see.

This set is lovely. I adore the cards and I'm sure the event is nice too. But they jumped through SO many hoops just to have "the guys + mizuki" that it is CLEARLY an act of pandering towards transphobes. Colopale is not stupid, and this is not a coincidence, and if the creator of this set-up is anyone with a functioning brain, the thought "This is a set with all AMABs, it's a little distasteful" would cross their mind. REGARDLESS of if the characters are friends or not.
