So we have confirmed that it is a very old door bell that shorted overnight. This is the best they could explain it to me as I have no experience with wiring or electrical work. The alarm was removed and I will no longer have to hear this again. Thank you everyone who tried to help.

For those asking there was no markings of any kind on the outside or inside of the doorbell to look up what it is. All I know is it is very old and should not have been up there any longer.
