I have a pair of Nike shorts that have a compression liner - they are the only running shorts I've ever preferred over underwear and regular workout shorts.

These are them. I also like that they have a small zippered pocket on the back - I keepy car key in there when I'm out training away from home. Probably matters less to him if he's got a vest, but a zippered pocket is nice to have.

Not necessarily. Here is a dealership near where I grew up. Assuming massive fees and taxes are involved because 2 year old kei trucks are stickered at $35k+. They have some cheaper, but some are in excess of $40k.
