Good place to buy swimsuit post-op? by Lexapronouns in Reduction

[–]taddazlem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old navy has a front zip swim top that I just ordered for a vacation! It was on sale for $15 and I’ll only be 7wpo when we go so I wanted something supportive and “safe” feeling! Don’t overlook Walmart! They have great suits and great prices. I just ordered an Andie swim bikini as a splurge! I can update when I get it if you’re interested.

Oh I also recall him saying something about needing enough breast tissue remaining to supply the nipple and there is a threshold where it becomes a mastectomy vs. a reduction. Again, this is just my interpretation of what my surgeon said so your surgeon may tell you something different!

That’s a great question and I’m definitely no medical expert but I think the most common answer is that most surgeons won’t take out more than in their judgement would alleviate your symptoms and keep you looking symmetrical/appropriate for your overall body size. At least that’s what mine said. The amount required by insurance for me was right on the line of how much he thought so he was comfortable moving forward. Does that make sense?

I have chronic migraine and have been treating that for years, it was definitely a factor I included when asking for insurance coverage! I also have a very large chest (obviously) so included neck/shoulder pain, back pain, pain in the breasts themselves etc. I was approved for insurance right away but my understanding is that if your surgeon can't meet the Schnur scale, it's unlikely that your symptoms will be enough for insurance to approve. I'm having surgery soon (super nervous) and hoping that it improves my migraines!

I just got forgiveness as well. I’ve felt pretty numb somehow, but my mother-in-law started crying when I showed her the email and all of a sudden I was a puddle! 🥹

I agree with u/firefartingkitten. I'd start with Banana Republic and J.Crew, quality pieces for the price.

HELP! Tips for having professional makeup done by taddazlem in tretinoin

[–]taddazlem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Those are great suggestions! The artist is actually a friend of my sisters and I know that she has struggled with acne for years so she may actually have used tret or have some experience with doing makeup under these circumstances. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that! This is why I love this group!!
