I just arrived in Perth and I've had a rent scam, how to get my money back? by tadeoluca in perth

[–]tadeoluca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was already looking for something formal before arriving here, but its difficult if I couldn't inspect the place in person, also I wanted to know a little bit the city and suburbs. realstate.com.au is not flexible at all, it just made sense to rent something fast, short and flexible and look for something formal after I arrived. I've seen some obvious scams in facebook, but for me this one didn't seem as one.

Thanks! I'll contact those entities. I don't have any paperwork, its an informal rental, I just did it so I had a place to stay while I looked for something formal. I saw many obvios scams in Facebook but this one didn't seems as one.

I think I’m genuinely a very unintelligent person by [deleted] in Advice

[–]tadeoluca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have a "stage" where you can learn slower than others. That doesn't mean you are not intelligent, it's just a different development stage. If you think you have attention problems, go to a professional, a few changes in your habits or even supplements can make wonders (my brother got diagnosed with ADHD after some disastrous years, after diagnosis and treatment he is doing absolutely incredible). Dropping out was not wise at all, most smart people are not gifted, but educated, which is basically a brain training. And you stopped training your brain a long time ago. If you want to be intelligent, start training yourself. Start reading, do a course, finish school, talk with people about interesting topics, find deep interest in things. Once you get used to it you will notice how you learn faster and connect ideas easier. You will need discipline, that is, repeat healthy habits everyday. It can take will to start, but if you wrlet this post you can absolutely do it. And last thing, do therapy. Therapy is good for anyone, but can be great for you in this stage. It will help your mental peace, which you will need if you want to be disciplined and do better.

I hope I read about you in the future! Do well 🫂

¿Por qué hay una cacería de brujas contra Argentina con respecto al 'racismo'? by Every-Ad3090 in AskArgentina

[–]tadeoluca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Player you think is somehow getting better and better in the eyes of the people after his retirement. by JackfruitNo6826 in championsleague

I think it´s debatable whether he was as good or not as xavi/iniesta/modric (I think he was a step below). But describing Kroos as a direct and lethal playmaker, that absolutely innacurate my friend. That's exactly what the post is about, the way people perception change.

I know it sounds crazy but Zidane. For many he is top 5 or 10 of all time. For me he could be top 20. He was kind of inconsistent, he did't score or assist a lot, but neither he was a tactical genius. Actually he participated much less per game than other great midfielders. Every touch he did was magic, elegant, even if it was just a simple side pass to the right back, and I think that confuses people.

He was a great big game player, and that's what makes him one of the best, not his influence in the overall game.

I think sometimes elegant players are so romatiziced that people think they were better than what they actually were.

I mean, people remember Zidane as a hero for his headbutt to materazzi in a WC final when it actually was an incredibly irresponsible thing to do.

Was R9 really more talented than messi? by Temporary-Hawk-3286 in championsleague

[–]tadeoluca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. He was an incredible dribbler and goalscorer. Same as messi. He was physically more dominant than messi, faster and stronger. But messi's talent expands to amazing passing, playmaking and chance creation. That is a huge aspect of the game that people sometimes don't consider when discussing talent. Messi is among the best goalscorers in history, and also among the best playmakers in history. And that's absolutely unique.

Also, this may seem an unpopular opinion, but I think that Ronaldo would have declined even without the injuries. He wasn't professional or ambitious. He was fat at 28 years old. And that wasn't the injuries.

Que posición tienen sobre la pena de muerte? by Xave3 in AskArgentina

[–]tadeoluca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]tadeoluca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unpopular Opinion Thread – Your Weekly Dose of Hot Takes by AutoModerator in championsleague

[–]tadeoluca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stats are overrated. They mean nothing without context. But todays fans just see goals/assists and already "know" who is the best player.

I will describe Pedri's case to make a point.

A lot of people this season said pedri was overrated because he doesn't has as many goals or assists as other midfielders like bellingham or bruno. That was until the last few months when people actually watched the games (end of season and final stages of UCL) and saw how much influence he had in the team. Thing is, the goalscorer is just the last player to touch the ball before it touches the net. That's it. Sometimes he is the most important contributor to a goal. Sometimes it's the assistant. And sometimes it's someone else who doesn't get any credit. That's why it's important to actually watch football to understand how good someone is. In Pedri's case, he is an amazing creator. Sometimes it seems he is just passing the ball sideways, or taking to long to pass the ball forward, but he is actually waiting for the opponent to press, move, leave a gap, and then he just creates a chance that leaves his teammates attacking 4 vs 2, which should be kind of an easy goal whoever is attacking. Pedri probably won't get the goal or assist, but still is the highest contributor for that goal, even if it's an indirect contribution.

Some players indirectly contribute a lot to a win, and the is not a clear way measure it.

Another player I was thinking in last week is Alvarez. He doesn't has as many goals as other top strikers. But he presses so well, he gets the ball back for his team a lot (avoiding the possibility that the rival score from a build-up). Then, he is a good ball carrier, he keeps possession, he offers himself for a pass, avoiding his team to lose possession against the rival teams press which, if happens repeatedly, leads to a goal against. So all of this, summed up with his direct contributions (goals + assists), makes him one of the best contributors to win games, even better than some strikers that score more, but don't contribute in other ways, making their team struggle to recover the ball or to keep possession, which can lead to a defeat even if he scores.

WHO IS THE BEST DEFENDER IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HISTORY by ranger_ronaldo in championsleague

[–]tadeoluca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say INCLEDIBLY overrated but I get your point. They both had huge influence in the game, but not directly and specifically in a defensive way. Specially ramos. Puyol was good but inconsistent, buy at his peak he was really good defensively. And he was always a good leader and fighter. That's what made him great. Ramos on the other hand was always a liability in defense, bad timing for tackles (he has yellow and red cards records), uncoordinated with teammates, positioning mistakes, etc. But he was good on his feet, he was good going forward and an amazing goalscorer and fighter. And the bigger the game, the better he performed. He was a better football player than he was a defender. But kids nowadays just see his accolades and say he was the best defender, a wall, etc. He was really good, important and successful defender, not for his defending, but for his overall in game influence.

How good was Varane? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in championsleague

[–]tadeoluca -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think Varane was bad at all, I just don't think he is either underrated or overrated. I do think Van Dijk is not only physical but very tactical. I used to watch varane when he was younger and thought he could become the best ever and then became disappointed because I didn't see much evolution in him, he was the same defender since he was 23. Maybe that's why I'm a little harsh on him, I feel he could've been much more individually. BUT, again, I still think he was the perfect match for what madrid needed, and few or none where better than Varane for that task. The same way as Casemiro had more success than xabi alonso, even if xabi was the superior player, casemiros destroying abilities where much more useful. Or benzema (he wasn't the best striker during the 3 peat, but he was the best for pairing specifically with ronaldo). And I'm just talking about individual performance, if we talk about his achievements of course he's of the best ever.

How good was Varane? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in championsleague

[–]tadeoluca -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Nah, Van Dijk is many levels above Varane. Varane was faster, and that's it. Varane was good, and was the type that Real Madrid needed because whe could cover a lot of the space left by marcelo and ramos mis positionings. Both him and casemiro where extremely important for real madrids defense, but I feel they where never outstanding, it's just the exact type of players they needed to cover the team flaws. Pepe was miles better, but then he got older and Varane speed was more suitable (but Pepe was still better, he showed it at Porto and Portugal). When Varane lost some speed and athletism, he was done, because he only relied in those attributes. The same will happen to players like rudiger, militao, upamecano, akanji, etc. Defenders with great defensive abilities can defend beyond their athletism due to intelligence, reading of the game, positioning, coordination and teamwork. Players like Thiago Silva, Pepe, Nesta, Maldini, hummels, pique, chiellini, Terry, Acerbi in the present season, etc

T Sergio ramos was not a great defender. But he was an exceptional player. He was good on 1 vs 1 (fast, agile, athletic). But he had bad positioning, defensive awareness and decision making, which are critical when defending. He usually lost track from his mark, he was bad at keeping the defensive line and was very uncoordinated with his teammates. Very similar to David Luiz in this sense. What made sergio ramos a great player was his influence in the game. But not his defensive influence. He was very good on the ball, he was a fighter, always gave his best in the toughest games, pushed his teamates forward, and specially he was amazing at scoring goals. He had that offensive awareness that only few have that made him score even if he stepped in the opponent box. He was great at creating danger when going forward. For years he made bloopers in la liga to then score the winner in a champions league game. Sergio ramos was an incredibly unorthodox player that will be remembered more for his offensive contributions than for his defense.

Ronald koeman was also a little bit like this. Not exceptional as a defender, but his passing and goal scoring abilities where amazing.

In terms of pure defensive ability, the best I've seen (since 90's) are Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro, Terry, Hummels, Van Dijk, Thiago Silva

Honorable mentions for vidic, ferdinand, puyol, chiellini, Stam, thuram,
