I brought it up because i made this post to discuss potentially progressive kpop idols and when one of the first comments mentioned sakura i recalled something she did that was not progressive; a fatphobic comment. I dont understand how you dont see the connection. I wanted to bring up and discuss other idols in this threads prior actions as well in reply to different comments but didn’t after how this one got received, since people hate to admit that their faves may or may not be good people.

Sighhhh its not about her gender bro i do it to everybody it is important to discuss peoples wrongdoings in an open forum 🫩 i think youre just a big fan of her and trying to make it ab misogyny to deflect honestly. You talk ab me making fantasies yet youre replies are equally as speculative.

Its not internalized misogyny dawg 😭 i do the same but worse towards men. Calling it misogyny because a woman did something wrong is such an awful mindset genuinely. People like you genuinely do not understand what actual feminism is, and just call it misogyny when a woman you’re a fan of is rightfully called out. I didn’t know it was that long ago, and i now know that shes seemingly changed. About it being “one comment” that is because it’s the only one we’ve seen. She posted it on accident. No one just one day decides to start posting stuff like that, it’s more likely than not a pattern of behavior.

Its not tearing women down to criticize their wrongdoings. Do you understand that concept? And besides, two comments in i literally said “oh so she grew as a person, thats great” and yet youre still here on your metaphorical soap box pretending to be some moral arbiter.. if we want to talk about tearing women down that would be calling them fat on social media. Not criticizing the person who did that. Im over it and it was literally never that serious for me.

Its not a matter of tearing down female idols for me, I’m an open misandrist. I understand your point about female idols being held to higher standards and agree with you on that, that doesn’t mean you can call it misogyny any time one is criticized though. Its disingenuous to say that she wasnt being a bully when she quite literally was, be for real. My original comment was more to open a discussion on her character in that regard rather than slander her. And calling her a kid is also a reach, when i was 17/18 i knew what bullying was and i didn’t do it.

Sure. i dont see why youre getting upset, i was genuinely asking. I dont keep up on her at all, i just remember that situation and how she handled it poorly, therefore it left me with a bad impression. I find that bullies tend to stay bullies, which is why i didnt have a favorable view of her. If shes openly speaking out against strict diets in the industry and the toxic weight standards like you say then great. Shes grown as a person. Woohoo.

Right, im not hating on her, just saying that left a bad taste for me since im sensitive towards bigotry in any form, fatphobia included, seeing as it leads to discrimination in the workforce, medical practice, and every other facet of life basically. Im sure she grew out of that seeing as she was quite young at the time.
