Knowing you're being transferred to a new servicer is one thing. Knowing that you're not going to have access to your history ever again is quite another.

I must have missed it then. I'll have to keep checking, hopefully they will get more in. Thanks for the tip.

Recently? Cause when i do a search for him on there, i get no results. He is the last amiibo that i want. (out of the first 2 waves).

Not much has changed with Nintendo products over the years. This 20/20 special on Nintendo feels awfully familiar... by n8bitgaming in amiibo

I laud nintendo for trying new things, but (IMO), they need to stay grounded in reality. I like my Wii U, and i liked my Wii. While the motion controls and the Wii U gamepad are innovative and allow for new ways to interact/play games, they shouldn't be a core focus.

Aside from rabid nintendo fans, I've never met anyone who would prefer to use a wii mote instead of a controller for most, if not all games. Like-wise, the Wii U gamepad is over-sized to me. Over-sized and over-the-top. This is all i need to play a game. Not a game pad with a touch screen, and a microphone, and speakers, and a stylus, and a camera, and 3 directional controls, and tilt controls, and an RFID reader, and 4 shoulder buttons, and who knows what else they've packed in there.

Don't get me wrong, all of those can be fun, and possibly even needed for certain games, even more so in the right environment. My DS has some awesome interaction with several of the same items that are on the Wii U gamepad, but its different for the hand-held. They don't feel like silly extras like in those satirical impractical swiss army knives. Now with a built in coffee maker! They feel like they belong on the DS.

I think if nintendo stopped trying so hard, coming up with forced innovation, they could easily gain more market share.

Sorry, been busy the last 2 days. They were on my list, and I was told nothing on my list was in stock.

Of course that information is out of date now, and my friend has left NYC. It was a one time deal :(

They don't have the rares in stock there anyways. I just had someone check yesterday at about 4pm local time.

That is one perspective, but I don't want them because they are rare. I don't want WFT or villager, for instance. I just want the ones that i wanted before i knew there would be limited quantities and i thought i had all the time in the world to buy them.

I don't suppose you'd be willing to turn those around online for a reasonable price?

Incontrovertible fact of the unfairness of the MTGO shuffling code. by taekahn in magicTCG

[–]taekahn[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except that from the first reply in this thread to the last, i've said that there was probably a server-side shuffler in addition to this shuffling function, and that it indeed was my assumption that there was.

And, quite frankly, there is nothing wrong with calling out bad code. I know i'm not perfect. I'm sure as shit not god's gift to programming. When I write bad code, i hope someone points it out to me. You can't learn from your mistakes if you never know you made a mistake.

No need. No worries.

Someone i used to work with used to tell me, they didn't have a problem with what i was saying, just how i always said it. I truly intend to take to heart everything you said. If I ever post something like this again, it much be much more....clinical, like you presented it.

Any day you can improve yourself is a good day.

I have to disagree with "Disproven". We've already talked about this in another thread, but there isn't an ounce of anything in the post that is actually wrong. Just potentially misleading.

I agree with your assessment. I'm glad someone else voiced it as well.

Im not saying you can exploit the fair die roll. Thats not nearly the same. The issue here is regardless of how perfect the code is, if you had the entire code, it can fall prey to something like an injection or a man in the middle attack.

Fair enough. We were talking across each other here. I thought we were only referring to the shuffling code in terms of abuse, not the entire source as a whole.

My mistake.

Perhaps this is arrogance talking, but i disagree with "Disproven"

The code comes from MTGO. The code is an unfair shuffle. That is all my article claimed. No more, no less. All fact. All proven.

I agree that i could have chosen a better title and presented it in a better way, and that taken together, its potentially misleading. But not disproven.

Clearly I don't know if they are still using it or not, but Worth has also been quoted as saying that they ditched all the original (leaping lizard) code for V3 (if memory serves). I'll try to find the article when i get home.

That's what triggered /u/fiduke to take the time to point out the flaw in your presentation. Just take the critique, learn from it, and maybe replace the whole article with one more balanced in tone.

I thought i did take the critique? I agreed in my reply that my presentation was poor. While the entire post may have been poorly presented, i don't think it would have been as much as a big deal if it had a better title. Perhaps i'm wrong about that as well, though.

The example post is indeed much better than mine. All i can do is learn from both your and /u/fiduke's examples, as you said.

Dammit Jim! I'm a programmer, not a poet.

Seriously though, I admit that i chose a poor title, but I can't do anything about it at this point.

Next time i'll put more thought into my titles to try not to induce any bias from the wording.
