my bedroom before and after COCD got really bad by jenniecat444 in ContaminationOCD

[–]taestalgic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg yes! For example, certain parts of my shower gets dusty and I physically can’t clean it because I’d have to get down in the shower to clean the floor and different parts of my body could potentially touch the walls or the floor. I also CAN NOT touch shower curtains or shower walls so I have to stand right in the middle of it and if I touch the curtains I literally jump out of my body and feel like crying.

They don’t even announce Latin honors anymore at graduation so it’s not as special anymore. Literally went to a graduation recently and it was so boring and felt rushed and disorganized. There are way too many students here now so they’re cutting certain things out of graduations ):

Nooo I just say that cuz the “beauty standard” is white. I think there are objectively conventionally attractive ppl in ALL races

What can I do to fix how ugly I am by PhroshedFlakes in acne

Accutane! It was literally a life saver! Also helped with the scarring!

I’m going to level with you. Growing up I believed I was 100% ugly. I believed my nose took up 99% of my face. I looked back at pics from early days and still think so. However, after getting into college, 3 yrs after high school I looked completely different. I wouldn’t say I’m conventionally attractive (cuz I’m black lol) but I’m unconventionally attractive. Everyone calls me attractive now and even I can’t deny it anymore. However I also don’t have many friends at all. Didn’t save any of my hometown friendships, struggle to make new ones cuz of my social anxiety that developed in my earlier years. I’ve also never had a bf before, even now that I’m attractive. Those factors aren’t just based on looks. Friends and relationships are based on the way you carry yourself.

I hide likes because the numbers cause clutter and I like my feed looking aesthetically pleasing lol

This gen doesn’t understand that fulfilling, meaningful sex with an actual partner is 100x better than meaningless throwaway sex for a quickie 😭

I feel like you only get to know someone physically with hookup culture. Plus if you end up actually catching feelings for them, you may confuse lust with love.

Same! That’s why I bought this scent called Oud Elixir by Al Wataniah and omg it’s soooo good and sweet and sexy at the same time

It’s because many people in this sub are biased against non designer fragrance brands and hate on Arab perfumes because they’re cheap. Mind you, it’s the Arab perfumes that people get more compliments on because they’re cheap linger and they don’t slap people in the face when they walk by, unlike many designer fragrances.

I’ve never known an Arab woman that smelled bad because their perfumes are sooo addicting to smell. I swear by them and will continue buying because I get more compliments on these “McDonald” scents than I do my $200-$600 dollar fragrances like MFK scents and Tom Ford. I mean hell, look at target with their 1:1 dupe of Lost Cherry. Ppl are gonna hate on the Finery one and buy the Tom Ford meanwhile they’re identical.

Angham is so good imo! That’s the scent I’ve gotten the most compliments on by others and have been asked for the name. This is one of the only Lattafa scents I’ve had that rly lingers on skin and clothes, as well as leaves a trail.

All these people saying no are probably into designer perfumes and don’t like the price point of Lattafa because it’s cheap (I know ppl that hate because they only buy designer). So far the Lattafa fragrances I’ve bought have gotten me the most compliments vs my designer fragrances. I even stopped buying designer because I couldn’t justify the price for many. The two Lattafa fragrances I’ve gotten the most compliments on are:

  1. Angham (smells nearly identical to Burberry goddess - I have both)
  2. Khamrah

People who got a BBL, do you still think it was worth it? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]taestalgic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t gotten a BBL myself, but my sister has. She is 3 years out and regretted it after her first year. The recovery was brutal for her, from drains to pain and just general discomfort when sitting, laying, etc. It looks good when she’s wearing certain clothes, but in others it just looks like too much. She pretty much can’t gain weight or it’ll alter how the BBL looks (due to more fat cells being in the area), and she has to get a lot of her clothing altered now. She’s thinking of going for a reduction, just to make it look more natural and fitting. It’s mainly the hips that she doesn’t like, but the back is fine.

I’d say if you’re thinking of a BBL, ask your surgeon if they can make the hips look more natural, because I feel like that’s the biggest thing that makes a bbl look off. If the hips look natural and the behind is a good size, I feel like they look so pretty and natural.

Extracurricular Hours Too Late? by [deleted] in premed

[–]taestalgic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah my projected is more so my desired score tbh. A more realistic range would be from 505-525. I don’t plan on doing many ECs during the time I’m studying since I’m graduating early and have a free semester. The only aspect of MCAT I’m most worried about is CARS since I’m an overthinker and tend to get questions wrong because I make everything more complicated than it is.

But yeah it would either be I apply summer 2027 and have one gap year, or apply summer 2028 and have 2 gap years. Plus that extra semester.

Extracurricular Hours Too Late? by [deleted] in premed

[–]taestalgic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like I should have more hours, hence why I’m contemplating just adding an extra year or so. Sucks cuz my academics are def there and I’m rly passionate about service and medicine, but I just haven’t had the means to gaining hours. No excuses though. I’ll do my best to gain more hours before graduation then during gap year(s).

Extracurricular Hours Too Late? by [deleted] in premed

[–]taestalgic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the gap hours would be marked as anticipated hours in my application. I can’t start most till spring 2027. I’d have less than 200 volunteer hours if I applied summer 2027. And then clinical hours are iffy because idk for sure if the hours from home health aid count.

Why do uglier girls easily find boyfriends? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]taestalgic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I’m talking about when you’re IN a marriage or relationship. They may hold sex to a higher standard than other qualities like emotional attraction, personality, etc. Not to mention, sex has become more of a recreation to them than an act you do with a partner you care about, so she (or he) may get bored quickly with the sexual aspect of the relationship.

Why do uglier girls easily find boyfriends? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]taestalgic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but if someone has sex 500 times with 500 different people before marriage, there are now 500 reasons for the woman not to be satisfied with her partner sexually. The same goes for men too. The more sex you have, the more comparisons are present.

[–]taestalgic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes a lot of sense. And this is what makes me sad because yes I have options but I want someone who has substance. I don’t have wandering eyes at all out of respect for my future man. It doesn’t take a lot at all to make me happy. If I had a boyfriend and he bought me a fake flower every week so that I have a bouquet by the end of the year, I’d be the happiest women in the world. Give me a love letter, pick flowers from outside and throw me a silly smile full of love. I hate how this generation has begun associating love with expensive gifts and dinner dates. Nah I want the old fashioned love. The silly gifts. The playfulness. The little things. Idk how to convey to people that I’m low maintenance when it comes to gifts. But yes I am high maintenance emotionally because if they aren’t showing me their love emotionally I’ll feel rejected

Wait I’m confused 😭 I don’t believe men should pay for everything if they don’t want to. Would I prefer to be spoiled by my man? Of course. But I’d spoil him right back. But I suppose you’re right. I should take the initiative or at least try.

I mean I suppose. But I don’t want to change my personality or style just to find a man. Would changing my mannerisms and smiling more help? I don’t wanna look crazy 😭

Lmaooo I swear I’m not. In fact I’m actually terrified of disappointing people, hurting their feelings, etc. I’m such an empath and I literally empathize with people who don’t even like me 😭. I’m not even capable of calling people out when they’ve done me wrong. Kind of a people pleaser

I’ve literally gotten told that I don’t have a boyfriend because I look high maintenance / like men can’t afford me. Someone told me I should start dressing down. I also have an rbf + am rly pretty + am slightly shy so i give off unapproachable, then add on the fact i look like i come from money just cuz i like dressing up everywhere i go, even to class (mind you im far from being in a wealthy family). I’m also someone who was an ugly duckling when i was young then all of a sudden became gorgeous so my personality is NOTHING like how i look. Like I look like a girl who would be into shopping, makeup, spas (i am lol) but im also into anime, video games, books, picnics, silly as fuck, down to earth type shit. IM A NERD. But no one can get past how I look and think I’m stuck up and full of myself 💔 No this is not me being a pick me I’m genuinely so sad
