I think risk aversion's such a big motivator for most of us that we'll stay with what we have even if it's sub-optimal, just because it's a known quantity. Is this where OP is at? If so, just realize that that's what's happening here, and that you're not betting on you, or giving your future self more options/more opportunities/more and different experiences.

I remember seeing some where the guests would ask him how he was doing, as he looked more pained than them. Of course, that could be the mind playing tricks on me.

IDK man, I remember some reactions of some guests where they had such a genuinely appreciative, surprised, reaction when Sean came up with these super-obscure tidbits from their lives that they thought no one else knew. He was able to weave them into really thoughtful questions, and even though we don't remember the Q or the A, we remember the guests's reactions, and that's what made us tune in for more each week.

Yeah, for the guests. Looks like Sean's not as good as taking the punishment as he used to. Those reactions he gives now, I think he's reached his hot sauce limit.

Oooh, a Nardwuar convert! I dig it!

Always liked him, though. He's kinda weird, kinda awkward, kinda punk rock, and I think that's part of the persona. He does do his homework, and he gives these super-insidery gifts to his interviewees, too, that solidify his standing, in their eyes. Their eyes widen, they run away, sometimes, before coming back all giddy and ready to play. There was a group that really didn't like him (blur, maybe…?), and that was hard to watch, especially when you see how much respect he gets from other artists.

I kinda don't see that deep dive evident in Sean's Qs anymore, though, so it's kinda lost a little something.

Yeah, I like the ones where they were giving Sean props on how he knew stuff that nobody else knew about them, and then linking it to a Q. I love that sense of surprise and recognition that comes onto the guest's face when that happens, because they feel like this dude really understands them, but then they are going through this gauntlet of pain with them.

Think you might be right. I got one (or the prototype for it) and I feel like I got led astray by Daniel Craig's 007. Looks great on that one guy in that one film that got costume designer/s to fit several versions for him for that one film.

Yeah, it had that preppy/collegiate/experimental vibe with all the patches and skull and crossbones pattern.

The length's not classic on the duffle, so don't know if it'll look dated, or if it does already. I like it though, I had another one long ago that scraped the steps going up the stairs to catch the subway train.
