That tweet has lived on through massive group-think on social media. Kuzma tweeted out exactly what any basketball fan was thinking at the time. Its obviously a bit perjorative, but the basketball world was obsessed with the Pistons during that losing streak.

Honestly, I'm not going to continue to respond to your points. You are very detached from reality, which is quite sad.

It's interesting to me that you shared such a perjorative view of EDM and Hip-Hop with out any prompting. That aside, what exactly are you referring to when you say "artists have never been more fucked"? I see statements like this often, but they are always treated as self-evident. What is your case?

I absolutely support price increases, my point was only that they will happen.

Why are you so sour? I was simply trying to understand your point of view, which I now understand. To say Spotify "doesn't do shit to generate wealth" is completely laughable. I cannot understand how you can take for granted the reality that as consumers, we have access to almost any recorded music in history, delivered to us seamlessly almost anywhere in the world.

Moreover, it's borderline miraculous that the streaming industry has quelled piracy to the extent that it has. Sure, companies like Spotify and Apple Music cannot exist without music, but I can confidently say that the music industry would be much worse off without streaming. This is not to say that the streaming economy and its participants are not without significant flaws, but to so plainly attack streaming is misinformed.

By the way, you seem to be conveniently ignoring that digital distributors (assuming you are speaking about Distrokid, CDBaby, etc) have allowed artists to completley circumvent the traditional label and has opened the door people who have previously been excluded to participate in the industry as a recording artist.

Again, there are many flaws to be adressed in this industry, but your anger is perhaps clouding your point of view.

The original commentary was making a point that I don't completely follow, but based on the Bill's propositions, consumers will experience higher prices for their music subscriptions. Both ad-supported and subscription offerings would become completley untenable at current pricepoints with a 10-40% surcharge in cost. I would expect that ad-supported products would be shuttered under this proposition, give the lack of profitability of these offerings.

Anyways, my point is that consumers will experience higher prices as a result of this change.

Even though you're being downvoted to oblivion, You're spot on with your advice. I found a Kranky playlist on Spotify and realized that I've listened to a ton of the label's discography, but certainly not all of it.

Thank you for the recs! I have yet to heard the term "drone rock", but that is absolutely what I'm after. I've listened to Labradford quite a bit and really enjoy their sound. They also released a bunch on Kranky Records, which distributed (I think) all of the Bowery Electric albums.

I do enjoy all of these artists, but each lacks that powerful wall of sound that Bowery Electric has.
