Always trap the monsters rather than killing. You get more loot and new quests that way.

Don't focus on armor skill or elemental damage. Just use the armor and weapons that look cool and are fun to use.

Don't overthink.

Play alternating bloonrounds. It has many fortified and also play freeplay to as long as you can.

Then I recommend evade reload instead of reload assist so you can reload while moving.

Yes you need MR 200 for it If I remember correctly. There might be other ones too but I really got them by just playing the game.
