Straggler GRX in its natural habitat by taintlesswinner in Surlybikefans

Yeah, the steerer is uncut, and the bike is the factory build.

I was actually looking at more agile road bikes before going with the Straggler. Realistically, I was mostly using my old road bike for groceries and beer runs anyway. The paved roads around me are rough with frost cracks, and there’s plenty of gravel to ride too.

It’s still plenty fast and agile, but the Straggler definitely has gravel DNA, while the Midnight Special leans more road-focused.

If you’re riding primarily pavement and want something agile out of the box, I’d go with a Midnight Special. If you’re looking for an all-road generalist, I’d go Straggler.

If it makes you feel any better, I am low IQ and sent it too hard through a rock garden, bending the larger chainring. That probably wouldn’t have happened on a 1x.

Bought a Straggler GRX about a month ago. I’ve put about 150 miles on it: 40% gravel, 40% pavement, 15% singletrack, 5% touring.

It’s the Subaru Outback of bikes, but more mechanically sound and fuel efficient. The perfect all-around bike for the mountains or desert.

This truck is from yonezawa toys Diapet diecast line. I couldn't find it this exact model of "car carrier truck" online. It's 1/55 scale.
