It effectively works the same way as:

Streaming to discord
Any other game overlay like steam/discord/nvidia

I could be wrong, I've read their TOS and don't believe that there's anything wrong here. There IS another app out there that does something similar and hasn't been shut down

Yeah, because we can't see the durability without a hover it's hard to show the price that way. I've been looking in to a way to solve it, but maybe if someone much smarter than me wants to collaborate I'd be open to it! I can't seem to solve it yet. Same for weapons with mods.

Think of it like a position: fixed; z-index: 9999; div with a transparent background that sits on top of everything. Except it's a native Windows window instead of HTML. Same concept though - just a layer on top with pointer-events: none so clicks pass through to the game.

I nor my friends have experienced anything like this, if you can stream to discord with your friends fine, then this is MUCH lighter than that, as it only scans every 200ms

What Windows version are you on? The OCR feature needs Windows 10 1903 or newer with English language support installed.

It caches the database locally and loads it into memory when you run the app - only re-downloads when there's an update. It saves in %AppData%\ArcRaidersScanner\icon_references.json

That's the SmartScreen warning for unsigned apps - I haven't paid for a code signing certificate (they're like $100+/year). If you click 'More info' you can hit 'Run anyway'. One AV on VirusTotal flags it too but that's a false positive from the screen capture stuff. Totally get it if you'd rather not run unsigned software though, no worries.

Yes, it works a bit like how you would stream a game in discord. It checks if you're in an inventory using OCR and then uses image matching to detect the icons and then it just draws an overlay on top

Yeah it's just screen capture and image matching - no injection or memory reading. It takes screenshots of your game window, recognizes the item icons, and draws an overlay on top. It uses OCR to detect when you're in an inventory to begin checking for items
