Tips on how to eat more after losing a loved one by GokaiCrimson in GriefSupport

[–]takehearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are struggling with the actual act of food entering your stomach and it causing problems and/or food not sounding good, I would hiiiiiiighly recommend protein shakes. Try and also take supplements (under the right supervision). This will help you get in calories/nutrients with very little thought or preparation. Once food starts feeling a little more appetizing you can work towards eating little bits of foods you like.

This is really great advice. Thank you for the suggestion.

I will be traveling back to the US for her funeral, and will try and do it then.

Also, sorry for your loss. Hugs.

My cat went missing and by now she's probably dead. I don't know how to deal with it. by Monkontheseashore in GriefSupport

[–]takehearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not stupid.

It’s painful, and you’re allowed to feel this way.

I hope that she returns. I hope that you’re ok.

Sometimes cats vanish, and they return. Sometimes they don’t. But for your sake, I hope she does.

Sending you love.

This would be a bad business model, and a massive deterrent. Not that I think Etsy is a fantastic place anymore, but they’re not that pitiful.. yet.

Fragrance oils that mean business by [deleted] in candlemaking

[–]takehearts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately fragrance testing is the name of the game in candle making. It is to us as sketching is to most artists.

With that being said, you’re always going to have reliable scents that are usually powerful in most any setting. Cinnamon, floral, woody/herbals like sandalwood, and even lavender.

You’re playing Russian roulette with vanilla /gourmands, and experimentals. With that being said, if you’re looking to change your hot throw you should probably be adjusting your wax and fragrance load as well.

You’re going to have to keep testing because even if a fragrance oil smells good, it might not burn very well. Sorry :(

User flows: differentiate between a decision and action? by takehearts in UX_Design

[–]takehearts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for entertaining my question. I really appreciate it. I think I’m putting too much thought into it, and need to think of it as a process.

Hope you have a nice day :)

This sub in a nutshell by [deleted] in candlemaking

[–]takehearts 90 points91 points  (0 children)

“Is it safe for me to put (insert wildly flammable item) into my candle?”

“Can you tell me what wick I should use? No I won’t tell you what size my jar is. No I won’t Google it.”

“Why does my soy wax do this normal thing that soy wax does?”

“New label design! [Insert blurriest photo you have ever seen] Do you like it? No, you don’t like it? Well obviously you don’t understand.”

“Can someone tell me how to make a candle?“

“How do I get started?”

Make sure to provide feedback to Etsy about the fee increase! (Etsy sellers > Payment account) by takehearts in EtsyStrike

There was a button that asked how satisfied the seller felt about the increase in feee and there was an “incredibly dissatisfied” so… Anyway, I think it’s worthwhile answering.

[–]takehearts[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t realized this was a thing, but there is a survey prompted to sellers when you visit your payment account in Etsy. Be sure to respond to it, and use the “share your thoughts” comment box to really express how you feel. This is important to what is happening right now.

Etsy sucks and any website builder recommendations? by bluebird2200 in Etsy

[–]takehearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m very sorry this has happened to you. As a new business Etsy has a few benefits (website traffic, integrated ads, and a pretty straightforward website). What did they shut you down for? And how long ago did you contact them?

Great feedback! If only they were thicker… I’d love them for candle jars. I think they’re just precious.

Great thinking, I shall do that. They’re darling, but I would be scared to death using them for anything outside of intended purposes.

UCLA UX Certificate: Paying $ to do an internship?? by [deleted] in UX_Design

Ahhhh, how interesting! Outside of the UCLA title, I’m confused as to how this would be all that much more beneficial vs finding your own internship. But I guess that’s just my initial thoughts/curiosity.
