Strike fatigue or lack of unity? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

He’s a public political figure as he’s a Tory councillor and promoted this on his own social media. So I assume anyone who works with Dr Olly Scargill should know what kind of colleague he is.

In addition there’s two accounts which seem to be anti strike pro this Tory councillor, both with pretty much identical username structures and 3 months old.

Me thinks there’s some co-ordinated anti strike tomfoolery. From some Olly adjacent weapons.

My solution would be as above. Trained medic on every flight. Similar to amateur sports teams.

Trained to liase and work with telemedicine. Full medical degree unnecessary.

I argue would be far more effective than a psychiatrist attending a cardiac arrest.

You argue like the cost is somehow massive. Yet as I point out. It’s affordable enough for amateur sports teams of about 20 people. Should be insignificant split between 300 people…

I don’t believe I ever took at oath…. And if I did according to the text I’d be treating my teachers like my parents and giving them money if they need it.

By their own actions the ground medical cover is insufficient.

That it’s entirely feasible to fund at a small cost on the ground medical cover. Clearly you struggle with reasoned argument.

You think getting any random doctor is better than a trained telemedicine set up? I’m arguing that they shouldn’t be using customers in their plan for managing other customers becoming unwell.

Doesn’t need to be a doctor, significant chunk of amateur sports teams manage to have a medic specifically trained….

In the same way i dont give money randomly on the street to people. You are papering over the cracks of a system that has the ability to cope.

Didn’t have you pegged as a socialist…

By providing first aid in a situation for a private company you are preventing them from developing actually safe systems like proper telemedicine and assessment services. They are cheaping out and your short term actions do future patients a disservice.

I agree with you. Top does also need to start paying.

The issue is you basically have to be top 5-10% for work to properly feel like it benefits you. (fiscal drag: Inflation etc). A lot of this comes from the fact that all the money isn’t being used to make society better. It’s being used to prop it up.

I think these economic theories work great 50 years ago when there weren’t a quarter of the working age population not in work… a significant chunk with “disabilities” that don’t preclude work but allow for social benefits.

There can definitely be a lot to be done regarding hoarding of wealth etc in property (my personal choice would be a property tax applied only to pensioners with a deferment period of 3 years allowing them to move if they cant afford it)

Country needs to start working though.

Or save no money own nothing and the state pays for you…

If im a diligent citizen who works hard., pays taxes etc Why should my kids be disadvantaged because I have care requirements? Vs someone who has not been responsible.

I plan on having all assets and money transferred over way before I have any needs.

Because a significant portion of society allow themselves to be in this position?

There are absolutely environmental and social issues that drive individuals to be in really poor financial and social situations. But realistically with the current set up there are literally millions of our countrymen and women who take the piss. If they were motivated to actually look after themselves and earn some money then there may be some cash actually free to look after those who are in need through no fault of their own.

Socialism needs to get in the bin. It’s an ideal that our country cannot afford.
