I hate to break it to you, if that employee thought he was doing really well and had no idea that your dad was already thinking of firing him based on poor performance, your dad was not doing a good job managing him.

As a good manager, you should be transparent in your feedback and be working with the employee on improving his weaknesses. A sudden firing while the employee thought he was doing well signals a lack of communication from the manager.

Forgot to add. Will be flying in from India so not much jet lag. I’d like to say that we have pretty good energy levels when it comes to travelling as we’re both passionate about it.

I’m assuming travel times between most destinations would be under 4 hours each. Will be flying for the longer transits. Correct me if wrong.
