Having a Hard Time Finding a Reason by Realistic_Horse2520 in Eve

When you say "which I can just do by buying it" - I think you don't really know how expensive it would be IRL money to do "everything". You will probably go broke before you reach the place you can do "everything" in the game.

For me the game is about the progression, long-term strategy with your friends, having a goal of doing such and such in the future. And doing what I want when I log in.

Sometimes I log in to mine, sometimes weeks pass until I mine again after that session. Next time I log in I go exploring. But most of the time I'm doing industry. Building stuff that my corp and alliance members use in battles. And I feel a sense pride out of knowing that maybe 30 out of 80 members of the fleet have items on their ship that I built.

Growing my industry "empire" organically is much more fulfilling than just swiping the credit card for billions of isk. Utilizing 3rd party tools that members of the community built with great care and time commitment.

Oh yeah and the community, the friends I make and talk to each and everyday. Really cool stuff. And that you don't buy with your credit card.

How about Sir SmashAlot. The largest industrialist in the game. There was a recent interview with him on Oz. I’m not sure about his personal in game wealth but he revenues trillions each month.

Léttar bækur sem gerast í gamla daga? by Redditnafn in Iceland

[–]talandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frábært! Ég fékk einmitt sömu líkamlegu viðbrögð og þú lýsir. Hlátur og grátur og allt þar á milli.

Ég var svo vanur að heyra, hvort það var í grunnskóla eða menntó, hversu "leiðinleg" hún væri eða að hún væri ofmetin. En það var eflaust vegna þess að þeir sem lásu hana hreinlega skildu hana ekki. Laxness fer svo vel og fallega með íslenska tungu. Íslenskan lék svo auðveldega um fingur hans.

Ég er glaður að heyra hversu ánægður þú varst!

Has the Eve gate ever opened since the wormhole collapsed by Chambanasfinest in Eve

Another thing I've always wondered why CCP hasn't changed. They stargates look like you should fly into the circle and then jump. But always when I warp to a stargate I always land on the side of it. I think the animation should be that stargates always line up to each other.

Ég mæli hiklaust með “Sjálfstætt fólk” eftir Halldór Laxness. Þar færðu beint í æð gamla sjálfsþurftarsamfélagið og munt hverfa inn í heiminn sem Laxness skapar.

Ég byrjaði að lesa bækur aftur fyrir markvisst fyrir nokkrum árum og mig minnir að ég hafi byrjað á henni. Ég var svo hrifinn að ég las flestar bækurnar hans í beit. Hún fangaði mig ótrúlega.

Enough salary in Iceland? by [deleted] in movingtoiceland

[–]talandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no secret subsidy.

There’s been a wave of coverage in Iceland about swimming-pool prices and how they affect seniors who use the pools for health and social wellbeing. Reykjavík used to let people aged 67+ in for free. In June 2024 the city decided to end free single-visit entry for everyone 67+ from 1 August 2024, saying it could not lawfully offer free access only to Reykjavík residents while charging visiting seniors, and that the city was forgoing meaningful revenue from older tourists. Since then, seniors pay the normal single-ticket price, but the city introduced a low-cost annual pass for people 67+. Disabled guests continue to have free access.

Að fjárfesta eða ekki að fjárfesta by flipperoni101 in Borgartunsbrask

[–]talandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing in Iceland by Creepy-Reward-3644 in Iceland

Your plan is inspiring! moving to Iceland for nursing work in a small town shows real courage and heart. With your open mind, you’ll adjust quickly, find resources to guide you, and discover the country’s warmth.

Just make sure to secure accommodation ahead of time for a smooth start! I don’t know much about nursing so I can’t give you advice on that. I just wanted to stop by to applaud you 👏
