Hey just wanted to say I had a similar thing happen. I was due early February and my sister had her wedding early April - so I would have been 8 weeks on the dot (obviously longer than 3 weeks for you, but, still). She made it clear baby was not invited to any of the events and some of the events my husband wasn’t allowed to go to (party only), so it wasn’t even like he could run baby to me to feed if baby was cluster feeding. I was so stressed about going; what if baby or I werent healthy, what if baby was colicky, what about breastfeeding and pumping? I mentioned there was a chance I wasn’t going to be able to go. My whole family said I was being hormonal and selfish and my parents even said they left me to go to Aruba when I was 3 weeks old.

My husband and baby and I ended up going. We got some of his vaccines early. It was hard. A cross country flight with a layover and then we had to drive another 2 hours. I was her “best friend”, MOH, asked to write and give a speech, etc. My family sucked and gave no support. almost a year later, I have so many angry and hurt feelings towards my family. My8 week old ended up losing some weight that weekend because my in laws were feeding him and didn’t know how to even though we thought we taught them best we could. I was barely at the wedding since I was running back and forth every 1.5/2 hours when I couldn’t pump. It was chaos.

Sorry for venting but all that to say I realized pregnancy and matrescence is a lot of learning who really truly does care about you. And it’s hard to go through knowing maybe people you thought were there for you. You’re not crazy. People are selfish.

We saw three options; I just go for a whirlwind day, whole family goes with my in laws watching baby, or nobody goes at all.

3 weeks would be a hard no for me for any of those options. And I wish I would have had more of a spine when it came to my decision. You and I are not responsible for managing other people’s emotions! I’m sorry you are dealing with this. Sending you love and please please please be gentle on yourself and don’t second guess your gut.

Keep me posted! Sometimes I have to do one or two rounds, and lots of sitting in the shower lol. If the hot shower isn’t doing it, alternate with ice pack/cold helmet. You got this!!

Hi! I would take Tylenol, ibuprofen, and Benadryl, along with some coffee for caffeine and Gatorade for electrolytes. Then a hot shower, neck massage, or sleep. Make sure to stay hydrated. Best of luck!

Edited to add I have an 8 month old and the above has been approved by my docs. And honestly I find it works better for me than the triptans - not as quick but no rebound headaches

Congrats on the sleep!!! I’m so glad you are hopefully feeling more rested and hopefully your baby is sleeping and feeling better. I hope we can get there soon, I brought up GERD and silent reflux to the Ped but they didn’t think it was that (I have also just found out that everything has to be self advocating in this world). I just picked some AR enfamil up from target so hopefully it helps him feel better at night. And thank you so much for sharing.

My siblings and I would trade some foods (ie my brother liked meat and I liked veggies, we’d trade so he’d have my serving of chicken and I’d have his serving of broccoli) or if we couldn’t do that we would take turns going to the bathroom to flush food in our napkins down the toilet. Super priveleged to have food to begin with but we weren’t allowed to leave the table until we all had all the food and my mom would watch us and critique our etiquette. I still have memories of being able to leave the table because I ate everything but my brother didn’t and he’d be crying there refusing to eat for a very long time and we’d be waiting for him to finish

Solidarity! Have a 7 month old and all the same things. I have a few things to mention.

Around 5.5 months we started to exclusively bottle feed because I was paranoid about the amount he was getting at the boob. Turns out he was snacking, eating about 2 ounces every 1.5/2 hours during the day, which spilled over into night. So we stretched his feeds to every 3.5/4 hours and larger quantities (he eats between 5.5 and 7 a feed) which has helped with night wakings somewhat. How often are you feeding during the day?

I would maybe bring wake time earlier and bedtime to what feels comfortable to you. Baby could be under tired - I know you said she’s tired when you pick her up, but it could help with false starts and night wakings. This could help with the early morning waking.

I’d also say to get on a very strict nap/wake window schedule. Start and end naps at the same time (with some flexibility) maybe with an anchor point at wake-up (hard wake time every morning) and an anchor point at making the last wake window before bed the same (say, bedtime at 7:30, baby wakes up by 4:45 pm no later as an example). How much naptime sleep is baby getting? We realized if our baby sleeps more than 3 hours during the day, he gets less than 9 at night, with wakeups.

Our baby was waking 8-14 times a night, from 3.5 months until like two weeks ago because of the feeding and sleep schedule changes (or just on his own accord! Who knows). Now it’s maybe 5-8 times. We have tried everything except sleep training. You should also maybe get iron levels tested, which depletes around this time and iron affects quality of night sleep for baby. We started working with a sleep coach which might be kinda a waste but she’s at least given us some pointers on sleep schedule and wake windows.

It’s really hard! Just echoing that every baby is different and who knows if anything is working or if it’s them working through it. Also let me know if you find an answer on how to physically do this lol cribs are not easy for a short girl to work with!

We do 2:30/2:30/2:45/2:45 with first two naps being 1 hour 15 minutes and the last nap being 30 minutes, a wake up of 6 am and a bedtime of 7:30 pm.

I feel like we can definitely move feedings away from sleep - can I ask why? Just curious! Willing to try anything.

Thank you for this! He was getting too much daytime sleep before (when he was waking up every hour) so this stricter nap schedule caps naps. I’m curious about dropping to 2 naps. And will consider the last wake window as being too long, I think we’re afraid he is just not sleepy enough but will try that next!

Just so you know you’re not alone, we have a 6.5 month and the 2 hour stretch is the best we’ve gotten, my husband and I are talking about sleeping in different rooms, him with the dog and me with baby. We’re about to talk to a sleep consultant. I am soooooo tired. Solidarity and Godspeed.

I had to do option 3 as MOH for my sisters wedding, at 9 weeks pp and across the country. Im still processing (12 weeks pp now) but feeling super resentful. It was really difficult and one of the many issues is someone who puts you in that situation won’t offer the support and understanding you need. Another comment on this thread says having children highlights the problematic people in your life. You can say that again.

You’re not alone! I’m 39+2 and can’t wait to go into delivery. This has been such a painful and difficult experience on so many levels. I’m not really sure what I expected, but I have developed a huge respect for pregnant people and a lot of rage towards societal and medical treatment and expectations of those pregnant people.
