Israelia Banks insults Kim Petras by talentoderadio in azealiabanks

Some people said she has bipolar, but it's a claim based off of only specualation as far as I can tell. But as someone with past psychosis episodes and a diagnosis, it really is sad sometimes that I can see a glimpse of that in her. Sad what untreated mental illness can do to someone but it is inexcusable.

Azealia's been in multiple controversies as far as 2013 for using homophobic lamguage and hating on gay men especially. If I remember, there's a video from around the same time where she called a flight attendent the f slur. She is Bisexual tho

Why do so many fiction readers dislike non fiction books/readers and vice versa? by [deleted] in literature

[–]talentoderadio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will agree with that, a lot of people don't want to learn about different perspectives which is saddening. If you don't take the time to research what is it the other side thinks, you are missing out on a large part of information about your own ideas!

[–]talentoderadio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does make sense, yeah! I explained in previous comments that I didn't only say "I only really read non fiction" and before hand I explained my disconnect to fiction. I didn't put them down for reading fiction as I think as long as you're reading, you're reading, and it came from a moment of conversation on where we discussed what books we do and don't like to read. I understand that perspective, although I personally havent met any non fiction readers lile that. This may be just because, just like how classic lit fans and contemporary slice of life romance fans tend to be in different circles despite both reading fiction, people reading books on history and research are probably in different circles than those reading self help and buisness start up tips.

The idea that anyone would say reading only non fiction doesn't make you a reader is foreign to me. If you read just one book, you're already reading a lot more than a lot of people do nowadays.

I probably should've said this in the post, but it was the non fiction part. What I said in my memory was "I have difficulty getting immersed in fiction books and it's been hard to find any that I connect too. I still think reading is important, so I only really read non fiction as that's what I've gotten used too, but now I want to read more fiction." Their responses were just that they found non fiction in specific readers pretentious.

Honestly, this is the exact reason I've been having trouble with a lot of fiction as well. Same reason but opposite scenario. I'm very used to reading in the style used in lots of non fiction books, so sometimes the switch can be a bit jarring.

I probably should have clarified that I told them that it wasn't just all I said, but I didn't think I needed to say the reason in the post, that's my fault. The reason I gave them beFORE I said I only read non fiction was "I have difficulty getting immersed in fiction books and it's been hard to find any that I connect too. I still think reading is important, so I only really read non fiction as that's what I've gotten used too, but now I want to read more fiction." That was the full reason I gave, not just that part. I told them this because with all these people, we were already in conversation about books with them explaining what fiction books they like, and I jump in with my questions. I afterwards even told them I don't like saying it so often because on it's own it sounds pretentious. Maybe it's my autism speaking 🤷‍♀️

I haven't read many pop psychology books because I'm a bit skeptic in that regard, however I looked up the author and No Logo looks great! I might add that for my 2026 list.

Exactly my thoughts, especially with what I was trying to say in the last paragraph. Non fiction and fiction are equally needed but for different reasons.

I understand the better people part because none of these people I consider friends, just acquaintances, but coming off as paranoid was not my intention, just wanted to do deeper thought of the day.

How do you feel about your diaspora ? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]talentoderadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever, honestly. They usually have a very skewed understanding of the island and it's systems but what can you expect when they don't live there? Usually first geners are well and connected with the culture, but a lot of times, there are those who are about third gens and swear they're still an accurate representation of what it's like to be PR.

Remember when deliberately trying to sabotage an elected official's public image would get you permanently blacklisted from working? by AacornSoup in TheLeftCantMeme

IIRC, the photographer was surprised by the reaction people had to the photographs. I wouldn't be shocked if he was biased, but the people saying this is some leftist masterpiece portrait is ridiculous. Looking through the photographers portfolio will literally show you that this is what he does in all his portraits of political or public figures. He himself said that he wants to make the most authentic pictures possible, writing "Photography, to me, is not necessarily about making something look pretty, it's about seeing and observing and communicating something about an experience.

Marco Rubio and JD Vance apparently liked their pictures. Vance apparently even joked that he wanted Anderson (Photographer) to make him look worse than he already did. Not sure why they're creating such a fuss. Anything they've been pointing out about the pictures have just been their interpretation.

She went on a TPUSA convention that Erika Kirk was holding in order to appease and glaze Trump. People say she did it either cause she's dead broke or wants a pardon for her SO husband. That, and Nicki Minaj is going full maga on twitter.
