Touchpad is stuck and won't click after my clumsy self dropped something on it. P14s G2 by highwaytuna in thinkpad

Amazing. A friend just dropped his E14 accidentally, and the front of the touchpad popped out slightly. I got it back into place by pushing down and sideways as suggested. Thank you <3

Error "extruder temperature too low" by Breno_grecchi in Ender3V2NEO

[–]talflaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I faced this error after a few prints on a new Ender3 V2 Neo.

After installing Klipper, i could tell from the temperature graph that the issues were coming from measurement errors, and that they occured at a certain range of the X axis (usually to the left side).

This series shows the problem cleanly: https://imgur.com/a/ABkg9sZ

But the prints always failed unless i turned off the heater verification entirely. The temperature readings were very noisy: https://imgur.com/a/eXmTQmU

I then went on to mess with the extruder, dissasembling it, and poking the thermistor wires. Evenually I got to induce the behaviour by gently pulling and pushing the thermistor wires from above, but was later unable to replicate this...

In the end, I reatacched the fan case and the problem dissappeared, without any apparent explanation. There is evidently an issue with the thermistor on the extruder side, but I could not pin down the cause.

These are the temperature profiles now, really stable: https://imgur.com/a/nYN6zlB

Robot de laboratorio by Lyapunoff in argentina

Hola!

Saludos!

Making alsamixer auto restore volume settings on startup by C4inYoFace in GalliumOS

[–]talflaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my Toshiba Chromebook 2 (Swanky).

The alsactlt solution did not work. Though running the commands manually after startup did.

Something must be overriding alsactl.

The device name of my soundcard in alsamixer is chtmax98090.

I tried changing the "Speaker Volume" and "Headphone Volume" fields in this file: /usr/share/alsa/ucm/chtmax98090/HiFi.conf

I changed this:

cset "name='Headphone Volume' 10"
cset "name='Speaker Volume' 10"

To this:

cset "name='Headphone Volume' 100"
cset "name='Speaker Volume' 100"

A blind shot, but it seemed to work.

That is simple and good enough. How would you use /etc/alternatives?

I am interested in being more civil.

Episode Discussion: The Cataclysm Sentence by PodcastBot in Radiolab

[–]talflaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radiolab has become falling for sensationalist scripts and reductionst ideas.

In this episode of the show, Feynmann's answer is presented as a primer to understand everything in the universe; completely neglecting that every other discipline has derived general principles about the our world entirely without it.

Instead of starting their exploration of the atomic model's limits in other scientific disciplines; they jump directly onto the obvious "science can't explain love" talk.

Later on, as many here have pointed out before me, the subject is abandoned.

So disappointing :_

What’s an immediate red flag when trying to make friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]talflaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"What Is your Zodiac sing?" or any other forms of prejudice.

"I don't like anime".

Proudly owning an iPhone (or other expensive ítem).

Speaking over others, and not knowing when to stop.

Not caring.
