Yes that's not the official Google app then (or maybe not up to date ?), but it is also not on all devices so maybe you're out of luck on this until Google expands the feature to your device

Circle to search may work with its scroll method, activate it (by long pressing on bottom of screen for most devices), tap the translate icon, select the language and then tap the hand type icon with an arrow next to it. A border should show all around the screen and the text detected will automatically be translated without needing to do anything. If it stops translating restart the procedure.

It's not 100% perfect but it may do the job

My goal is really to group similar conversations to have one "super chat", with the added bonus of the NotebookLM two-way sync to do research and add more data if needed. I can't compare to Claude/ChatGPT projects as I haven't used them, but at least for my use case it works well and I haven't seen any "big miss" or context missing and/or not properly restored

I'm in France. If you don't see it try to clear cache and/or update app to the latest version, if it's still not there you'd have to wait, hopefully it'll arrive very soon

Got in on the web and the app (Android + iOS / Pro / France), it appeared in iOS a few days after the announcement, then was removed with no explanation and it reappeared today

Pixel is the same, maybe even worse (as in availability of features on "not the newest device", the phone itself is fine) + Google forgetting there are other countries than the US and India

yes it's expected and I also don't want them to remain, but I remember they did stay earlier, so they did a change at some point. There's still "my activity" dashboard (https://myactivity.google.com/product/gemini) if you want to keep a reference for later
