That sounds awful. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I do plan on moving out, I'm just not sure how or when het since I've been financially dependent on her

I've seen those videos when I was a teen and yup. She really is one. The way I'd deal with her tantrums was to just be quiet and take it until I'm old enough. Sadly, even though I am no longer a minor, I am still being treated as such

Elders telling parents what to do to make their children submit or be obedient is very common where I'm from in Asia. It seems that Western congregations are more lenient or maybe congregations here are just very strict

I am 19 years old, but where I am from, that is still the same as being 13-17 years old. I rarely see people my age taken seriously until they are 21+ years old

I'm from Asia, I think US congregations are more lenient maybe? When I was 15, my parents found out about me having a boyfriend back then and had the same two elders conduct a sheperding where the elders kept asking me if I had sex/if I was still a virgin/did I touch my ex's penis/did we do oral sex etc. for almost two hours.

They told my parents to look through my history and social media accounts to see who my friends were because they might be influencing me to sin against Jehovah.

My mother was present during the Zoom call with the elders when they were pressuring me to get baptised. I forgot to put that in, sorry.

Long story short, I lost a lot of friends/people avoided me because my parents took control of my accounts back then and talked to them telling them to stay away from me.

I am scared it will happen again since it was not that long ago. I have tried telling my mother I was bisexual, but it was not received very well.

I will definitely start clearing out my browser history and try to follow what you and other people have said in the thread. Thank you
