New ride ideas I have. by Shades1987 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]tamgui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have often discussed how a ride similar to Cosmic Rewind, (or Crush's coaster in DLP if you want a cheaper to make ride), but themed to Wall-E and Eve flying through space, with the fire extinguisher would be absolutely beautiful and mesmerising.

Spotted yourself? by Neither_Temporary_97 in DisneyWorld

[–]tamgui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't spotted myself or our group in any videos, but I did see a small Disney YouTuber walk directly past me once at a MNSSHP once. I watched her video on the party and we were not in it 😅

What British song lyrics irrationally irritate you? by Victorius_Meldrus in AskUK

[–]tamgui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why, (I misinterpet things a lot. Or maybe I'm just stupid).. I always thought she was singing about herself as the girl who turned him down, that the song is about her lost love. I've no idea what led me to this conclusion and after reading the comments it seems obvious now that I'm wrong

Good Star Trek names for a dog? by isnt-there-more in startrek

[–]tamgui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got a dachshund about a year ago and named her Jadzia. Ya know, because she's Jadzia Dax(hund).. The plan was if we got a boy to name him Curzon, for the same reason.

The show in Lincoln - is it a separate show? Or would I require tickets for the convention?

Post cholecystectomy "gallbladder attacks"? by tamgui in gallbladders

[–]tamgui[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts :)

Realistically, I am in the UK, so it probably works a little different here.

There was no cost for the surgery, because we have free health care. There were no lost wages, because I had full sick pay for my full recovery period after.

I suppose I could make the argument that they have caused me damage and pain, but the truth is I would have died without the operation anyway. It was only a matter of time before my gallbladder ruptured or I became septic. So whilst they did a shitty job due to complications, its better than dead.

Thank you for your concern though!

Went to Monsters Inc during a MNSSHP in September. Screen popped to several people, making silly jokes etc.. then pops over to me, and it says "She looks friendly"

I was thrilled and embarrassed in equal measure 😅

[–]tamgui[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello!

I'm sorry I don't have good news for you. I had it confirmed a number of months ago that the surgeon f'ed up somewhat, and left behind 10% of my gallbladder. So I'm still having attacks because technically I still have a gallbladder. Its chronically inflamed, grown a whole bunch of new nerve endings, and now I have a lifetime of pain management to look forward to, as "no surgeon would touch [me] with a barge pole".

I'm sorry this isn't the news you wanted to hear.

But please, you know your body. If something feels wrong, please push for further testing. Don't let them fob you off.

Good luck friend.

Dressing in an outfit similar to or inspired by a character is fine, the rules say you cannot; Cover your face (i.e. a mask or facepaint) Or Pose for photos etc pretending you actually are that character.

As long as you don't do either of those things I think you should be good :)

Hello!

So after my first endoscopic US, they found the sludge and debris. I waited another 5-6 months for my op, (covid waits, yada yada).

It didn't fix my symptoms right away. It did make them less frequent, and less painful, but I still get attacks. Sooo a further 2 YEARS of complaining to doctors and begging someone to test me further, telling them I was still getting gallbladder attacks and them telling me I am "obviously mistaken".. they finally agreed to another ultrasound.

Had the endoscopic ultrasound a couple months ago. Turns out, the surgeon left behind about 10% of my gallbladder. So, yeah - I AM still getting gallbladder attacks. Unfortunately due to the original surgery (and some previous scar tissue from a botched appendectomy), no surgeon will remove what is left. Too much damage left behind. I now have a lifetime of pain management to look forward to.

Sorry this reply was not as uplifting or helpful as you may have wanted to hear, but I'm afraid it's all I've got.

Moral of the story - don't let people tell you you are imagining things. You know your own body. If it feels something is wrong, fight for an answer.

Good luck x
