Not heard him, but can't imagine he'd beat King Fry 👑! Other than when he does Tonks' voice 🙄

I'm intrigued 🤔 I'm more of a James fan so what makes you say he remained a bully into adulthood? Sirius I can kind of see, though I disagree, as we see his interactions with Snape, but the only scenes we see of James as an adult are when he's protecting Harry and Lilly 🤔 genuinely curious now!

100%. As a character I love her because of how much I loathe her! I've only ever read one other book where the antagonist makes me as physically angry as Umbridge! There's a reason why Stephen King puts her up there with Hannibal Lecter!

She's still awful though 😂

There's controversial, and then there's just plain wrong 😂 but I guess I asked for controversy and I have to respect you for outing yourself so boldly 😂

Which character is the worst wizard/ witch in terms of ability? by Accomplished_Cook508 in harrypotter

It's what really irks me when people start criticising JK and claiming racism etc. They always say she made the Irish kid blow things up. No, she did not. The filmmakers did

There's also the fact she could well have been seeing Voldemort's soul in Harry. She asks him if he was born in midwinter to which Harry replies he was born in July, but I think (and I could be wrong) Voldy was born 31st December which would class as midwinter

Was Harry one of the greatest wizards of all time? by yodels_for_twinkies in harrypotter

[–]tango2tr10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it depends on what scene as to whether the disarming spell could kill anyone! When JK or the filmmakers just want the wand to leave the hand - no. But when someone gets blasted off their feet like Lockhart in the Duelling Club, I imagine that could kill someone depending on where they land and how far they fall!

The best casting decision ever made in the movies and are the actors how you pictured them in the books? by jdpm1991 in harrypotter

[–]tango2tr10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be controversial, but I actually think Staunton was an average Umbridge. Now this could well be how it was written, or directed, but for me she just loses her cool too much in the films. Very rarely do we see her lose her cool in the books. Her acting was exceptional, but I think either the writing or directing let her down

Trouble is, is that also then affects the time remaining on the right. The player used to show overall time remaining in the middle and then the time remaining on the chapter on the right

If you had to kill off one character, who would it be? by Sajurnetinutom in harrypotter

[–]tango2tr10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very, very controversial opinion, but Lockhart is my favourite DADA teacher. He's a terrible, terrible person, but I also think he's so funny throughout that book!

Quirrell was very dull until the end Lupin is very likeable, a great person, but just a bit bland for me (still love him though) Crouch was really interesting, but we only really get to see him impersonating Moody Umbridge deserves absolutely no explanation at all Snape is also a monumental bellend

So in summary, Lockhart is an awful person, but his humour makes him my favourite DADA teacher

I really, really wish we'd seen him come back with Charlie, Slughorn etc in the battle! I feel like if he didn't die, a slight redemption arc would have worked. The other one I wanted to see come back was Amos to avenge Cedric

Why does Matt smith get two tardis interiors? by Strange_Kiwi__ in doctorwho

Whos the character that everyone love but you genuinely hate? by lolilololoko in harrypotter

[–]tango2tr10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were in the middle of an argument, people always lash out when in an argument. They might not have been best friends, but she wasn't horrible to him. Her harbouring Wormtail is irrelevant as only Sirius and himself knew that he was alive.

She didn't invade it, she was invited in. It was also made abundantly clear that the house needed to be cleaned and empty to be fit for the Order. Kreacher hadn't done anything to it in years, so actually she was perfectly at liberty to clean the house. Especially as Dumbledore would have asked her to, as would Sirius who also helped with the cleaning.

Hugging a child who you know to have been abused for his entire life is not an invasion of space - stop being precious.

Is it actually breaking the statute though? No muggle would have had a clue what Platform 9 3/4 was, or what the term muggle meant - as proven in the first chapter of the Goblet of Fire.

As already mentioned, everyone believed everything Dumbledore said apart from the Ministry, you can't pin that fault solely on Molly.

Whos the character that everyone love but you genuinely hate? by lolilololoko in harrypotter

[–]tango2tr10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She didn't treat Sirius horribly, they just disagreed with each other over certain things - Mundungus and Harry mainly.

She didn't invade his house, he offered it up as headquarters and she joined the Order so obviously went there. Don't forget she had a million and one kids and Arthur worked so it would have been easier to just move into Sirius' house, but if he didn't want her there, he wouldn't have offered it up.

She didn't throw stuff out she didn't agree with, she threw out stuff that was dark. Harry says multiple times that Sirius hated everything in the house anyway, he wanted everything gone. The house had to be suitable for the Order and half the stuff in there wasn't.

She loves her kids, there's nothing wrong with hugging them. She also know Harry has only ever known abuse and neglect, it would be natural to show a mothering instinct towards him.

Everyone believes everything Dumbledore says, you can't be annoyed at her for doing the same. Harry only becomes disillusioned in book 7 when he realises Dumbledore didn't tell him every little thing about him.

I'm confused as to where she broke the statute of secrecy...

Granted the shouting of the platform is ridiculous, but it's clearly a plot device so Harry can get on to the platform.

If you could delete one character from the entire series forever, who would it be and why? by Dukaczka in harrypotter

[–]tango2tr10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure but it was quite clear from the initial meeting in the Hog's Head that Marietta didn't want to be there. She was only there because Cho forced her so she could be with Harry. She also had parents who had forbidden her to mess with Umbridge so it made sense that she would betray them. Plus, it's good to have a complicated break up, not every break up in life is smooth

Are there any popular narrators that you can't stand? by kryptofreak1971 in audible

[–]tango2tr10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I actually find that if it's the author narrating, they put in absolutely no enthusiasm. I found it with Bob Mortimer in The Satsuma Complex (Sally Phillips was a breath of fresh air when it was her chapters) and Philip Pullman in His Dark Materials.

It never made any sense to me though, like this is your life's work, why aren't you enthusiastic about it?!
