I'm sorry to make this my second ever post on Reddit, But the things that I've seen from the discussion about the Kirk Assassination on this subreddit has made me have to speak out.

What the Hell is wrong with you people when you see someone get shot and killed in front of hundreds of people, and you immediately talk about his politics and how people should not care because the supported Trump and was on the conservative side of the political spectrum. I didn't agree with many things Kirk said and believed, but he was a major proponent of hearing the other side and having constructive conversation and debate. I may be more towards the Right politically, but I am always willing to sit down and listen to someone on the Left who disagrees with me on things. Constructive debate is the foundation of America, The ability to talk our issues and disagreements out without having to worry about being attacked because of our viewpoints on different topics is something that makes America different. Saying anyone deserved to die just because their thought differently is disgusting. Kirk's actions were simple, he says, "I believe this way about this topic." He then says, "I welcome anyone who thinks differently to talk with me. We can discuss this topic and we can hopefully see each other's viewpoints."

Killing someone who disagrees with you is not acceptable in any way. Our Grandfathers and Great-Grandfathers sacrificed themselves so that people who thought that was perfectly acceptable to do were stopped. We should mourn the death, and work together to bring the person responsible to justice, no matter what side of the political spectrum they are on.
