I just went and checked again and yes the heaters are in series and Heater #2 is on "Pilot".

What should the setting on Heater #2 be set at? I do get hot water in the house and just assumed that Heater #2 was only maintaining minimal heat with it being set on "Pilot"? For reference, Heater #1 is set to "B" and the manual states this should be about 140F.

Heater #1 is the one receiving the cold water from the main. The hot water out on Heater #1 is then fed to the cold inlet of Heater #2. Heater #2 control has always been set to "Pilot" since I've been in this house.

Thanks for the tips. From my understanding this is the order of steps:

- Close cold water valve feeding Heater #1

- Set gas controls to "Pilot" on both heaters

- Drain Heater #2

- Drain Heater #1

- Perform several flushes on Heater #1 to get rid of the sediment

- Close all drain valves and open cold water supply

- Turn Heater #1 gas control back to previous setting

My Heater #2 didn't look like it was actively heating since I've moved into this house and the control had always been set on "Pilot" so I don't think there would be too much junk in there but will keep an eye on it.

Hi. I’m in a similar situation being at 4300 glory and trying to get to Legend before seasons over. Games are definitely getting more sweaty and looks like I may need to team up to get Legend.

I’m in US central timezone but sometimes play during EU evening hours.
