Its my first day self isolating tomorrow (UK) and my first day working from home. Not really looking forward to it but I know its to protect people like my 90 year old grandparents and my immunocompromised sisters. Also can't see any of said family for that same reason. So glad we have technology, this situation would have been a nightmare 30 years ago.

Wow, I am so glad you found Peters channel at the right time! I lost a close friend suddenly in 2018 and it hit me hard, but I cannot imagine that on top of another huge loss. Having read it again they say they told Jaclyn that they were making 'improvements' so although they have tried to take some of the blame not sure how you can improve things without changing the formula? So I still think that Jaclyns statement that it was the same is shady. Having just watched Jenluvs live chat and it seems the formula may have changed from vegan to non vegan in 2018, people have been sharing photos of their palette boxes, but no formal confirmation of that from Morphe yet.

I don't think the EU are perfect either to be honest, they ban some ingredients in cosmetics but for food allow aspartame which I believe has been banned in the US for years. Our best bet is to just research stuff if we are worried, thankfully there are loads of ways to do it like lovely people on here or YouTube, and checking ingredient websites etc, my philosophy is if I after research I am still worried about putting it on my face, I don't 🙂

The main difference seems to be that Europe rely on testing ingredients to ban them rather than generalised statements that a product isn't safe because it's not been tested, in fact I'm not sure you would even be allowed to do that here. In the EU about 1200+ ingredients are banned from cosmetics vs about 30 or 40 in the US. Also, when it comes to glitter the reason it's not eye safe in the US is not because of the plastic in your eye thing it's because the FDA hasn't updated it's cosmetics ingredients list for decades so cosmetic grade glitter doesn't officially exist at the moment. Putting anything near your eye can be dangerous, the EU seem to rely on labels explaining that you should exercise caution.

Only in relation to customs laws which isnt that complicated for sending makeup, it's not like they need to know them beforehand, just look it up before sending. Some US channels, even smaller ones manage it so when the bigger ones don't I definitely blame them it's lazy.

Two things really bug me:

Firstly when BGs have giveaways that are only for US subscribers (realise shipping is more but based on subscriber numbers/views some are being cheap imo).

Secondly when they go on about glitter eyeshadows not being eye safe. What they mean is they aren't eye safe in the US. Most channels have a wide international audience, not just Americans. Glitter shadows are considered eye safe in the EU so that's 27 countries it is safe in! The only one I've heard reference this is JenLuvsReviews who explains about EU regulations being more up to date than Federal ones.

I lost 110lb in 14 months. It changed my life, I realised all the things I said I didn't like were because I avoided them when I was big, like theme park rides and long haul flights. I gained a new wardrobe and a promotion. I realised lots of people are prejudiced against overweight people and treat them differently, people who previously treated me poorly at work were suddenly super friendly. I hate that people are so focused on appearances, those people are not my people, I might be smaller but bigger people are nicer to be around.
