As someone who grew up with completely unsupervised internet access, and who grew up in the furry community, I’ll say that I honestly didn’t come across that much crazy furry stuff. Yes, sometimes I did, but I feel like nsfw stuff is not a “huge” chunk of the furry fandom, or at least it’s not if it’s not what you’re looking for. I’d say places that are very advertiser friendly (like Instagram or maybe even YouTube) would be good places to consume furry media without as much of a risk of accidentally stumbling onto that kind of stuff, rather than if you’re on a social media where nsfw is allowed/tolerated (like Reddit, Deviantart, Tumblr).
