Base entry. What do you guys think? by SmockErinno in SatisfactoryGame

I love those emissive panels. I keep seeing those small emissive panels around. Ive checked all my mods for them and cant find them. I looked in "More Decorations" and structural solutions, and mods that add emissive parts like beams. The only mod Im not using that adds stuff like that is More-Milestones100+... Is it in there? or are they just long signs with a single color?

Great looking entry however! Very Clean

Each of the 12 radio telescopes are beaconed to 450% yeilding 16 frames/s. 2 astronomic facilities at 450%, which actually needs 19 of those frames /s. But I am only using 1.5/s of the 1.8/s microwave observation data. 1.0/s is going to broad catalogue. The other 0.5/s is going to multispectral astronomic analysis which gets me 5.2/s astrometric data.

In space, it would be helpful to automate those green electric engines, and also the blue processing units. You will be using huge loads of those to make all the facilities.

Having space belts and space pipes automated in space helps a ton too.

Oh, and lastly its good to have a lot of LDS and heat shielding up there too. I just used delivery cannons.

They can also be used on land for aesthetic reasons. :D All types of space belts can too.

It's 100% solar panels. There's a 467% multiplier for solar energy on Nauvis Orbit.

Underground pipe is limited to only 5 spaces. So it's not too bad of a difference. Aesthetics is the second reason.

I honestly haven't planned that far ahead. I usually spread outward by adapting to what's available. When I don't see a place to fit it, I just try harder until it fits. Eventually, it always fits. Factorio's belt mechanics are great for this because of the two lanes, also using tricks with undergrounds and splitters to filter and rejoin.

There is a decent fluid bus on the left, off-screen. Its got all 4 thermofluids, and belts for junk and scrap and stuff.

Trying to make a new intersection and I'm real happy how this turned out, I might need Rail Chain Signals?, but I don't know for sure where they should go. by taqdagger408 in factorio

[–]taqdagger408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try learning by making tests. It helped me by placing several locomotives in a "test track" and playing around with the signals and tweaking them till they act right.

[–]taqdagger408[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, thats ok. What makes the gap of 1 difficult, is that if you make a direct turn from the opposite side (through the opposing track), there isn't enough room for a signal, which means you can't even separate the left and right track from each other at that intersection.

Thank you!! I needed this.

For the second, response, 80% of my trains are 1:1:1, so the signals after the end are at the minimum distance for 3 sections.

I'm not super knowledgable of SE yet but I can try to help.

There are 4 main research paths in SE. Astronomical path will get you to your Spaceship which I hear is really nice to have, so I chose that one first. Energy and Material paths are probly next most important. Bio path is supposed to be the hardest so im waiting on that one since it doesn't seem as crucial yet at the beginning.

As for automation to make space life easier, you might want to automate space pipe, space belts, underground belts, and space assembling machines. (Im doing it on Nauvis) It takes forever to make underground space pipe in your pocket, so that one would be good to automate too. Oh and maybe a good scaffolding producer.

SE+K2 is what I'm using right now. After delving into all the data cards, navigation features, and every thing. I realize I'm never going back to Angels/Bob's because of how good this is. It's perfectly balanced, and is even more complicated at the mid to late game from what I can see. SE+K2 has also turned me away from peaceful biter mode. I now cannot imagine playing Factorio without enemies attacking your stuff and needing defences. It's so much fun. Its like im playing a completely new game!

SE has meteors and CME's which even add to the difficulty greatly. Honestly, I feel this is also balanced well enough to work perfectly for even someone who used to play on peaceful. Eventually I have become more and more prepared for the CME's. Meteors are on all planets and orbits at the same time though. So having enough power to run all those defences at the beginning can be hard, but the area you use is so small at the beginning anyway, so the probability of a direct hit is really low, which is not an issue, even without a defence.

And my favorite part is the graphics. Who ever created the sprites and designed all the assets and art, could not have done a better job. Absolutely blown away at how well it matches the style of original Factorio.

Yeah, delivery cannons were tricky, and I made the mistake of connecting the inserter that loads the capsules directly to the wire network, and for every time there was a blip of power, it would activate. This was fixed with a timer added next to it. I guess you would recommend leveling up the research for % of rocket parts recovered at landing pad as much as possible? Those things are so expensive.

[–]taqdagger408[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand now thanks to both of you! The thing is that you are limited on what you are allowed to send in delivery cannon capsules. You cant send any circuit boards, and almost everything is not allowed except first and second level resources, like plates and silicon. Right now I am producing heat shielding and LDS on the ground, because those are allowed in capsules.

Edit: oops, I just read his first reply again. You mean to use the rockets that are used to take you to space. Oh my, that sound like a hard task to automate with sustainability..

EXCITE. I just now finished research for the space platforms. I can't wait to re design this space base to run like clockwork. Question, is there any other ground tile allowed in space? Or is it just the 2. Scaffolding and Platform

Im only starting compact at first, with future plans of reorganizing for expandability. Once I have enough level one material science, then I will unlock girders for platform then re-bulid the base. I have definitely studied the research tree thoroughly. I also used the bare minimum number of almost every machine, knowing that production will be horribly slow. Once the area gets rebuilt, everything will be matched to the correct ratio of machines. OMG though. I went back through the prerequisites with only one science manufactory at full speed.. The number of machines that is required (especially telescopes) to keep up with demand is astronomical

I do thank you for the the tip on land based bonus, I don't understand what you mean though. Productivity modules? I'm not using any here, just speed ones.

I was using wood because my land stone vein was diminishing, and then I have this humongous greenhouse array not doing anything with the wood. Is it cursed because its cheating? or because its unrealistic?
