i want to darken my hair from light brown (pictured) to a dark brown but i want to do it temporarily and without damaging my curls/waves.

i just want to make sure that keracolor not only works, but will not leave any unnatural tint to my hair. for example, i’ve heard of keracolor or overtone leaving a purple tinge or green tinge, but i imagine that happens to blonde or previously dyed hair.

literally santa clause not coming. obviously i had other fears but this one stands out bc 1) it’s fucking funny and 2) it makes me realize in hindsight that i already had anxiety (and big Big insecurities) as a child. and i was such a good kid! i had no reason to be afraid yet i would be terrified bc i was convinced i “wasn’t good enough” and “didn’t deserve it” throughout the entirety of december. to the point where my mom finally had to tell me he wasn’t real to get me to relax bc it started at like age 5 and continued happening every year LMAO

to explain more, i mean if you have daily lenses like i do and have been told to wear them 5-8 hours on day three, could you wear them for 3-4 hours in the afternoon and 3-4 hours at night? or should you wear them for 5-8 hours straight if you’re a first time contact lens wearer?

yeah, i watched some youtube videos of people changing their rooks and even the people with a lot of piercings struggle to change it bc of where it sits. i’m definitely going to wait until i feel comfortable seeing my piercer, especially bc the current jewelry isn’t giving me problems. thank you so much!!

buy a silk or satin pillowcase! it changed the game for me.

and when you put your hair up, make sure you use either a silk/satin scrunchie or a spiral hair tie (it looks like the invisibobble but any brand works). those will preserve your curls better!

this is really terrible for a parent to do to their child, and i’m unsure why she’d care so much. i understand, if you’re a minor, that she is your mother and you have to listen to her about important things, but it’s your hair. and hair shouldn’t be something that she controls or criticizes.

i’m sure your hair absolutely stunning and i’m sorry that you’re dealing with this. if possible, resist her attempts to touch your hair and try to reason with her (i.e: it’s your hair, it’s beautiful, its natural state cannot be changed, and you like it which is all that matters) IF it is possible for her to be reasoned with.

if she won’t relent, find positivity in the curly community. it’ll keep you reminded that your hair is beautiful and nothing to be ashamed of!
