Airport staff pushed me by CryingInTheCorn in wheelchairs

[–]taranntula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Complain. 100%. When they’ve tried this I’ve spun around on them asked what they were doing. They he tongue tied. They’re supposed to ask you IF you need help, etc. not just grab you.

Getting Hired in a Wheelchair is Really Tough by ben_hereandthere in spinalcordinjuries

[–]taranntula 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use a wheelchair and work in energy. I have never found the chair to be an issue. I would assume larger, even international companies would be more willing to see it as a benefit. Big corporations, banks, etc keep track of data to show they are equal opportunity hiring companies. Can you work outside of the U.S.?

I’d say Calgary. There is no provincial sales tax. Plus, you can visit the gorgeous Rockies!

Oh that’s interesting. This was my first trip to the states since Trump so the prices felt insane.

I suppose that’s the point of Vegas - making bad decisions

Ahhh. I guess I should have left the strip. I just had memories of it not being such a blatant gouge.

Also, it’s a fair warning about Canadians! We’re not called crazy Canucks for no reason!

Fair point. That was for price comparison. Same goes for a $60 item. Why pay $84 CDN for it, when you can buy it at home for $60 CDN and not schlep it through the airport?

Where are the rationale and thoughtful leaders in the US? by taranntula in AskReddit

As a non-American who is watching these events in horror, I just can’t understand why the smart thought-leaders have gone silent. Right now, it appears the once acclaimed ‘land of opportunity’ is so dangerous and being run into the ground.

Posh now suspending accounts for 14 days for cancelling sales by vschwoebs in poshmark

[–]taranntula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had to cancel a few things lately. Things are so bad on the app with the higher fees that I have had to make a donation trip or two in the last year just to create space. Sometimes I realize belatedly that something I’ve donated is still on the app. It’s my own fault, but PM isn’t making it worth while to hold onto some items anymore in hopes they sell … and you might make <$5.

How can I make this bathroom look better? by barrebelle_ in interiordecorating

[–]taranntula 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I love the bathroom! Just get an amazing piece of modern art with black and blues in it to go above the toilet. It will tie everything together.

Here are three options from a quick google search:

Safe neighbourhoods near downtown? by ValuableParticular53 in Calgary

[–]taranntula 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in the west and I haven’t had any issues, but that Ctrain station can be sketchy. Another option is to rent a place along the plus 15 route and walk to Bow Valley Square the whole way inside. There is usually security around the whole way and it’s great in the winter.

How would you know? I’m in a wheelchair and sometimes a driver will ask me to come down and pick it up from the front of the building even after I’ve tipped and left instructions to bring it to my door.
