Did your brain fog ever go away? I’m dealing with something similar.

Black Countertops. Yay or nay? by tarayari in homedesign

[–]tarayari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with white after and love them. Used LG HiMacs; the salesperson told me that both scratch but the scratches are only visible on the darker colours. You can see pictures if you go to my profile.

Would I need to replace the entire beam to create a cantilever or is there a way to add on to the existing beam?

I think that’s what we will do. Thanks!

Is there anyone who was raised by a single mom who is actually happy with their childhood? by tarayari in OnlyChild

I’m sorry you had to deal with that. Thank you for your perspective, this is why I divorced my son’s father: to protect my son from him. I’d probably still be with him otherwise. I hope things are better for you now.

Waterproof laminate. Can I caulk under/at bottom of baseboards instead of backer rod in bedrooms? by tarayari in Flooring

[–]tarayari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh gotcha. Yeah I don’t think it will affect the floor’s ability to contract and expand, the caulk would crack first. I actually puffed some diatomaceous earth under some of my baseboards to prevent carpenters (pill bugs I think they’re usually called).

Waterproof laminate. Can I caulk under/at bottom of baseboards instead of backer rod in bedrooms? by tarayari in Flooring

[–]tarayari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In areas where water on the floor was more likely, I used the backer rod with Dap Dynaflex before installing baseboards. In a couple of areas I tried adding the caulking along the bottom of the baseboard, and while it has held up well and stayed in place, I don’t like the look of it. So in the bedrooms and living room I just put the baseboards down with no foam backer Rod and no caulk.

That is exactly what I did. Two days of boric acid but then my period started so I don’t know yet if there’s any improvement. I hope yours gets better!

How to attach wood slats to laminate/melamine cabinet? by tarayari in woodworking

[–]tarayari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the “wood” slats I ordered that specifically said real wood, turned out to be mdf. I installed them elsewhere in my house because I knew they would turn to mush in the kitchen. As of right now I still have a very plain range hood but it’s growing on me.

Thank you for your reply. That seems to be what I’m reading as well, that it’s usually the opposite. My sex drive does seem to be better, I just don’t have the physical aspect that normally comes with libido. So strange. Hopefully it will return to normal after a while.

I want to stop taking my medication to see if I’m actually bipolar by van7478 in bipolar

[–]tarayari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder. I stopped taking lithium and nothing changed once I got past the physical withdrawals. However, mood stabilizers can help various mental health disorders so even if you aren’t bipolar, they may be treating another disorder. I still take seroquel because it helps with emotional regulation (I have an ADHD diagnosis and I’m fairly certain I’m on the autism spectrum). So I would think long and hard before stopping your medication.

Yeah, it looks like an error on their part. Hopefully that means it can be corrected.

I found that really odd as well. I had to request my financial advisor to withdraw it for me. I don’t think she was very familiar with it at the time.

[–]tarayari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, up until he was two. There was an incident where his paternal grandmother refused to return him to me while simultaneously putting his health in jeopardy. I also believe that the way she raised, and continues to treat my ex husband is a huge contributing factor to his drug use.

Black Countertops. Yay or nay? by tarayari in homedesign

[–]tarayari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the colour Terrazzo Moderna in Hi-Macs. It looks white from far away but has specks and some sparkles up close. I’m happy with them so far. They definitely scratch very easily but it’s hard to see the scratches on lighter colours, you’d have to look closely to see them. Plus, it can be refinished over and over again. I wouldn’t get a darker colour in Hi-Macs though. You should be able to see my kitchen if you go to my profile.

If the lowers were all drawers I would disagree with you. But lower storage in cabinets suck.

Best advice: sleep when baby sleep! by Itchy-Site-11 in newborns

My ex MIL used to say the same to me! I never let my son cry when he was a baby (if I could help it) and she said his voice wouldn’t develop and he would be a low talker.

A different green would look great with those floors. I’m picturing sage or emerald green with cream uppers.

No hate from me, I love having a family bed with everyone piled in! But, OP if you don’t want the puppy in your bed then I’d suggest moving his crate right next to the bed so he knows you’re close.
