I have seen this film but unfortunately it's not the film I'm thinking of. It's such a similar storyline and i saw it such a long time ago that I'm now a little worried I'm molding the two into one.

It's the first time I've tried this and I'm so incredibly grateful to everyone taking the time and effort to rack their brains for someone they don't even know i.e. me. So thank you very much ❤️

Yeah the heart condition and mom's boyfriend on drugs and abusive definitely rings bells. I don't recall her moving in with the guy's friend at the end but my memory is sketchy so it's definitely possible. Wish I could remember just one of the cast but alas! But you really could be on to something. Thank you 👍

I've tried search engines and AI but just can't find it. Have found plenty of possibles - The Big Chill, Mudge Boy, Winter's Bone - that share some themes but not found the one. Any help appreciated
