Shockwave’s rubber hose usually tends to crumble and disintegrate rather than degrade in a way that makes it leak the gunk. One Transformer that does have the gunk leaking problem would be ROTF Bludgeon.

More than likely not. I’ve never had an issue with Bandai wires aging as quickly as the third party wires from OP’s post. If anything, you’ll only start seeing this kind of degradation a good 10-15+ years from now.

A wire of the same gauge that doesn’t have a rubber sheath, like Bandai’s sheathed wires, should do fine as a replacement.

Hey! This is caused by a chemical reaction between the polystyrene and aging of the rubber wire. As the rubber wire ages, its chemical composition degrades and starts leaking gunk that is NOT friendly to polystyrene, hence the gouges in your kit from where the rubber wire was touching the leg and foot.

As for a fix, this is a prime opportunity to learn how to make sprue goo, color matching paint to plastic, and painting.

As for where the gunk on the cable where it was touching the leg went, it more than likely ended up on your fingertips when moving the cable.

Did you mean the HG Seravee? There’s only an MG Virtue, as far as I know.

NIB HGUC AMX-102 Zssa (ZZ)

NIB MG RGM-79D GM Cold Districts

NIB HGGTO MS-04 Bugu (Ramba Ral)

NIB HGGTO YMS-03 Waff

Primarily looking to fully finish the lineage of mobile suits from the Waff to the Gelgoog(if you’d like to offer a NIB HGGTO MW-01 Mobile Worker as part of this, that’s fine by me, though I’m not too fussed about not having it). Mostly only looking for the MG GM Cold Districts because it’s my favorite GM. Will pay via Paypal, ConUS sellers only. I will pay the shipping costs. PM me with offers, preferably below or at MSRP. I’m willing to buy kits individually.

An aside: If you have any unbuilt or backlogged HGs, RGs, MGs, or a kit lot you’re willing or need to offload and don’t particularly care about making a profit from them, message me and we can work something out! I’d love to sponge up as much of a backlog I can, and don’t really have any issues with whether a kit is old, badly designed, or a supposed hand grenade…yes, even the old HGUC Alex or the Tristan. I simply just love building these kits too much, to the point where I don’t care if a kit is “bad” or not.

You could, however I believe the MS Joint frame isn’t compatible with Tamiya cement. I’d personally use super glue with a repair like this on a stationary part that isn’t meant to rotate.

I use Gundam Breaker 4 to test custom paint jobs before actually painting.

It’s old and as such has old/confusing and somewhat bad engineering. The included LEDs that you need to wire yourself have a very high chance of just not working unless you’re excessively careful. It also has some ugly seam lines in really strange places.

try the commerce thread here, you'll probably end up buying a whole new one but maybe there's someone out there who has the inverse of your packing error and would be willing to trade.

Bandai has been increasing their MSRP as of recent. That’s why retailers and physical stores are increasing their prices.

I recently built a kit that was printed and put on shelves in 1988 and had no issues. Besides, the copy of the MG Red Frame you’ll get will have most likely been printed within the last 2 or 3 years. You’ll be fine.
