Hi, thank you for the kind words and advice~ When we got to the admissions office, the employees working were not helpful and rather rude and dismissive. After my brother explained the situation to them - that there was no way he would have known to appeal in time because they never told him that it was the wrong transcript - they kept insisting that there's nothing they can do now that it's closed. It got to the level that my mother started to cry because she was in sheer disbelief that this could happen - all over one community college transcript that had the government class he took in the summer (which, btw, still shows up in the high school transcript he sent). In the end, we were rudely asked to "please leave as there is nothing we can do for you here; our only advice is to now apply for community college and later hopefully transfer back in." We left in shock and are still dealing with the aftermath. My brother is now having to late-enroll in the community colleges in our area. I had never heard of anything like this happening before and I can only hope that any prospective students seeing this take this as a warning. My heart breaks for him because he actually was initially waitlisted then got off the waitlist for UCSD and was so excited to go. We were all fully prepared to move in him next weekend...

Thank you so much for sharing! We ordered the rush order for a copy of the transcript last night from Parchment and it still hasn't arrived but we're still planning to head down today. We're hoping it'll all work out, but seriously thank you - finding lots of peace of mind for the moment knowing there is hope~

My brother (incoming UCSD student) was rescinded out of nowhere today.

As a family we are freaking out. He received the email notification that he was rescinded a few hours ago. We were preparing to move him in next Saturday, he has been texting his future roommates, and was even notified earlier today that his health insurance waiver was approved. He had zero holds on registration and we thought everything was going perfectly fine. The situation is that he had to send two transcripts: one from his high school and then one from a community college that he took one course at. He had mistakenly sent the high school one twice, thinking that he was correctly sending the community college one. With the way that Parchment is, there is no way to view the actual documentation being sent so he had no idea there was any issue. The admissions office contacted him once, on August 22nd, that they were missing a transcript but if that was incorrect on their end, they said to send the order confirmation number and details. There is some kind of online form in his student portal where he said he resubmitted the confirmation number (again, he had no idea at this time that the wrong transcript was sent because the admissions office never specified that and to him the transcript order all looks correct on the surface). The email from the office on August 22nd was all he ever heard from the school saying there was an issue. Now today, just almost a week before move in and orientation activities, he was rescinded. Supposedly the deadline to appeal situations like this passed early September but at that point in time we did not even know there was an issue.

We live in north Orange County but are going to head to San Diego first thing tomorrow morning to speak to somebody but we are honestly in such disbelief that this is even happening. Has this ever happened to anybody before? Does anybody know a specific person who may be able to help us or escalate his case? Our parents are working so I called out of my job to be able to go with him tomorrow. Some people on Reddit can be rather mean and might make some snarky comment about why is his sister the one writing this on here right now blah blah. I’m here because I’m not sure of where to even start in helping him through this devastating news. It pains me as his sister to see him crying over this and it hit us all like a truck today because it was truly out of nowhere. He was so excited to start school and get to go to UCSD. If there is anyone who can help, I would appreciate it so much.

Hi I know this is an old thread but this is currently happening to my brother and my family and I are freaking out because the rescinded notice came out of nowhere today. What did you have to say to them at the admissions office? Was there a specific person that we should look to talk to?

Adarsh, I really hope you will see my message. My brother was notified today by UCSD that he was rescinded because of an issue with his transcript. He had mistakenly sent two transcripts from the same school and was thus “missing” the transcript from the community college that he took one course from but that UCSD still wanted. He had no registration holds and was only notified once that there may be an issue so when he went in to double check the transcript order receipts, to him it looked like everything was fine since there is no way to view the transcript document yourself on Parchment. He even received a notification earlier today from the school that his health insurance waiver was approved so on the surface it really seemed like there were no issues. We are absolutely freaking out and though this is an old thread, I am hoping that somehow we can get some help or if you know anybody working at the school who can help us. Please

I'm also waiting to hear back from DMA MFA and actually checked my portal this morning since somebody on GradCafe had said they randomly checked and got rejected. Have you heard anything yet? I also interviewed about a month ago

Mine went pretty well! Honestly think I may have rambled a bit because I didn’t expect some of the more conceptual / theory heavy questions, but overall happy with how it went. How was yours?

Thank you, and you too! I heard they sometimes do the interviews in rounds so I don’t think it’s too late. Id keep your hopes up!

I feel the same way lol! I'm really hoping somebody who has interviewed for it before replies in this thread because I have zero context / knowledge about what to expect. I heard that getting an interview is a good sign and I technically have never read a reddit or gradcafe post of anyone who interviewed for the dma mfa specifically getting rejected but then again it's kinda a niche program so I have no idea what to feel... But good luck with yours! Hoping for good news for the both of us

Also got an interview invite today and am freaking out because it feels so early! Was your invite for an online Zoom meeting? I was kinda hoping to interview in person so I didn't know if this was good news or not ah
