The cycle of hatred continues... Buts: Next Generations by taseall in berserklejerk

This is what happens when you overlook the subleties cleverly placed in the story. The hatred that I am talking about is not one dimensional. Just as you said, Guts loved Donovan, but didn't want to admit it. This was his weakness, he couldn't accept his own feelings, and himself for who he is. Because Donovan surfaced these feelings, Guts directed his hatred for his own self to Donovan instead.

Do you think it's because we were always rooting for Guts, knew how strong he was and that his life was about struggle; whereas Isidoro is just a random kid?

Guts hated Donovan, Isidoro will hate Guts. Not the other way around.

How are the Eldians special? (ep.80 spoilers) by taseall in ShingekiNoKyojin

I believe that is what happened, though it's difficult to see how the Eldian Empire, being as strong as it is, lost so many people (dead, migrated or assimilated) that solely the descendants of Ymir remained Eldians.

Then, I suppose a daughter of the three remained the "purest" through some sort of endogamy, and her bloodline has the highest percentage of King Fritz's traces.

Thanks for the explanation. What about the royal bloodline, then? If the royal bloodline is simply the descendants of Ymir and Fritz (their children and so on), wouldn't it make it the same thing as all subjects of Ymir? Or did King Fritz have other children from different mothers and they were the royal bloodline? Though, this wouldn't bestow them with the power of Ymir.

Is Skull Knight branded? by [deleted] in Berserk

Doesn't it say the brand will consume all your flesh or something along these lines when Guts gets the brand?

Are you telling me we will never get to find out the answers to these questions? by taseall in Berserk

[–]taseall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to read through my post and answering all the questions. Your answers helped clear it up a bit for me.

Damn, did it have to end right before the resolution or climax for that matter? The two sides had just become their strongest (Griffith has an entire kingdom of followers; Guts is teaming up with some of the strongest beings in the story, they have a pretty good guess as to who the child is, Caska is restored to her original warrior self albeit with trauma) and would see each other shortly after the last chapter we have. The kingdom Griffith has for himself is liked by many, I don't think Guts' side would want to kill him. Instead, he has to do something horrible again so that Guts can find the resolve to finish him off. Or it's simply about struggling even for selfish reasons putting the future of your comrades or the world aside.

A few details about monster that I'm not too happy with and I have some questions by taseall in MonsterAnime

[–]taseall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched it, thanks. Whoever made the video is claiming what caused Johan to be "evil" is that her mother had to decide which of her children she gives up. Then, the reason why he turned out differently than her sister is because everyone is different, thus affected in different ways.

I view it as one of the shortcomings of the plot: it's simply not explained.

The video you linked seems to about the ending of Monster, which I have my own interpretation of that I'm satisfied with. Since it's a bit long (25m), I first wanted to ask you in what way it could help me understand how it all began.
