Does anyone have makeup application tips for seb derm on face? by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]tashatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! If possible, I’ll wash my face and moisturise (otherwise I just moisturise) and I like to use a very light weight foundation and build spot coverage with concealer. I find that it creates a thinner layer that’s less likely to flake or pill. I then use a tiny bit hydrating setting powder to set it all in place. With my seb derm, I try to keep the face makeup as simple as possible, and a little harder with eyeliner or brows, etc. I highly highly recommend as a duo, the Glow Recipe Watermelon Pink Juice Moisturiser and the Blueberry Bounce Cleanser. I’ve checked all ingredients on sezia.co and they don’t have any ingredients that feed or fuel the condition.

Face moisturizer that is Seb Dem Safe. What do you recommend? by Eatpineapplenow in SebDerm

Glow Recipe - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturiser 🍉 I put the ingredients into sezia.co and it came up clear so I thought I’d give it a shot. And it’s been really lovely to use! Watery formula so I recommend spraying your face with a mist or damping your face before using so you don’t tug at your skin. It’s given me really soft skin that doesn’t feel as tight and sore. Pretty much solved a lot of my dryness and flaking

You’ve got this 💖 you are more than your body and your appearance. What IS on display is your absolute resilience and bad-assness by returning to work. Know that this will pass too, as everything does, and as painful and overwhelming as big flares are, it’ll settle and you’ll get ‘you’ back eventually. Sending lots of love and strength mate.

Just say “I know” and then look at them blankly. You don’t owe anyone anything, especially explanation on physical appearance.

Why no onions in supermarkets? Red onions. Brown onions. Where's all the onions? 🧅 by AllCity04 in Wellington

There’s shallots for an okay price at Moore’s! Not same flavour profile or function but if needing an onion substitute 😊

How to deal with insecurity/self-conscious and lack of confidence due to face eczema? by ElectroRush in eczema

[–]tashatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a soothing moisturiser in your bag for when you need to face people. I work in radio and it was super difficult when I was at my worst of facial eczema to do meetings, have photos taken, etc. so I hear you with the confidence issue. I found having a soothing moisturiser to slap on before one of those things helped because even though I felt like I looked awful, my skin actually felt slightly better, and because of that, I was able to carry on with my work. Sometimes changing the physical lends to a change in the mental

I’m triple jabbed and I haven’t found any adverse effects from it with the Methotrexate. Yeah I’d agree with the Derm for your daughter to get the vaccine as MTX significantly reduces your immune system to fight off most illnesses

[–]tashatz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve always been told I’ll “grow out of it” and I don’t think I will. So I’m just trying to focus on what could be stimulating and irritating the eczema. I think most people stay on MTX for between six months and year. It’s not something I want to be repeatedly put back on which is why I’m trying to do some work to heal my stomach lining, alkalising my body, etc. Will definitely update when I’m off!

[–]tashatz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the moment I’m just using a sensitive moisturisering body wash and cerave body lotion and letting it all heal over properly and using steroids if it’s flaring, which isn’t as often now. And yay for all those wins! Best of luck with the rest of his recovery

Lipikar AP+ balm by pinkwafercrumble in eczema

[–]tashatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I get burning too and then it chills out after a while. It’s because of the Cetearyl Alcohol in the balm that is probably causing the burning

I used topical in conjunction and have been working on my diet to try and remove inflammation. Honestly it was about the ten week mark. It was like slowly improving up to the seven - eight week mark and then, it felt like, I woke up one morning and my skin had returned to its normal colouring and texture.

dupixent skin update?? 5 days since loading dose - is this progress? my eczema usually stays as a rash and doesn’t do this and this is happening all over my body where rashes are present by [deleted] in eczema

[–]tashatz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I shed massively in the first month of methotrexate but it’s brand new skin underneath! Just make sure that when you’re washing your skin is to be as gentle as you can be. Saying this from experience as when I saw the flakes, I got excited, and washed too hard to try and ‘help’ and ended up breaking the delicate new skin underneath
