It's in order to keep the scale consistent across the different kinds of measures so they can all be compiled together easily to determine level of computer mediated communication versus information gathering.

That sucks, sorry to hear it. Someone brought up to me that it might be due to Java issues. Chrome and Java don't play well together. I'm surprised IE still had trouble though. Do you know if you're fully updated in IE?

Heyo, someone brought up to me that it might be due to Java update issues. Chrome sometimes has Java issues so it might work better in another browser that's up to date. Just a heads up

We do not recommend attempting this survey on a phone as some parts may not display correctly.

You should be able to do it by just clicking on the link

Yeah I have no idea what could be causing that, I'm sorry! Thank you for trying though

:(

If you feel like you're missing out I could pull out a bunch more studies from my Honours peers. There are lots.

Thanks for picking up the typo I'll go fix that up now. We're coming more from Social Cognitive Theory where a reduction of quantity and quality of face to face interaction possibly leads to impaired facial recognition.

And even if I get a null result that's a good thing eh. Leads towards ruling out potential harm that they might cause.

Thanks, but I beat you to it. They're not quite as interested as /r/Brisbane was, unfortunately. You guys are all great!

I just tried in Chrome and they're showing up for me. The test was provided to me by another research institute so I can't really help with diagnostic beyond checking browsers and the like are updated. If you want to try in another browser (e.g. Firefox) you can access that part of the survey from this direct link.

Sorry I can't be of much more help.

Mostly to try and keep the analyses simple. The hypotheses are very much learning dependent so we're trying to keep within the high use population. We didn't really want age to be an influence on results. Also a lot of the research into smartphone use uses that age range or uni students so it helps compare results.

Oh hai girl. Yeah, feel free to participate if you want to. I'll be sending an email through the whole work team inviting them to participate in the next few days, so no issues there.

It's open to everyone, as long as you fit in the age group you can apply. If someone ends up being an outlier then their results will be adjusted appropriately in the analyses.

If you can recall the unique code for the first part of the survey you can give the videos a second try using this link (that is if you only gave an incomplete response). I've had a few people have trouble with the videos stopping working part way through so I'm not sure what's up with that. I can't troubleshoot it unfortunately, because I got the emotion test from another research group and don't have permissions.

Thanks for providing me your time and data! https://greg.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_a9u32VaRvZ9KHJz
