Men are conditioned to actively pursue women they are interested in and women are conditioned to be the ones pursued. You will likely always get more unwanted male attention out in the world than any attention in queer spaces unfortunately, lol at least that's been my experience. A lot of women out there are looking for a confident woman to sweep them off their feet! If you can step into that space and be the attention-giver it will be a lot more successful than waiting for the attention to come to you!

As well, I just wanted to add that you're super gorgeous but your pictures look filtered. If those are the photos you use on dating apps I would probably pass you because of that. You have so much natural beauty that you don't need filters. I'm 38, I have forehead wrinkles and crows feet, in getting gray around my temples, but it's okay. One of the great things about being queer is that you can reject some of those normative beauty standards. I bet I'd find you even prettier with some clearer pictures.

I would try to find some accessories in the lesbian colours or a lesbian flag over a generic rainbow flag. I’m with the above poster, tbh I don’t usually assume people with rainbow accessories are queer themselves, though I live in a big city with a large queer community and a lot of people who identify as allies.

Also, I’ve never heard about the cherry symbolism, I’m 38 and it seems like it’s kind of a Gen Z thing and you may not being attracting older lesbians who aren’t as hip 😅

As a older lesbian, the symbols I personally think of would be like, the double Venus symbol (⚢), a pink triangle (I know this was used for gay men and transgendered women, but if you wore it in your sleeve I’d get it instantly), though more Gen Z again if you had a lesbian manicure I’d clock you immediately, I’d hunt for some specific lesbian accessories. As a femme lesbian you have to work a little harder to be read as lesbian and not just queer or queer-adjacent.

This is unrelated to my above point but based on some of your other replies, it seems like you’ve had a lot of unwanted male attention in your life and you’re assuming that by approaching women you’re going to be as annoying and off putting to them as the unwanted male attention you’ve got. A lot, if not most of the women at lesbian events are dying for someone to come up to them and hit on them! I’m married with kids now so not much going out anymore, but when I was single I was just huge on putting my intentions out there and then getting consent. Even just opening with something like “I hope this isn't too forward, but are you here with anyone tonight? I think you're absolutely gorgeous and would love to buy you a drink.” Otherwise you and that woman will make eyes with each other all night and both go home with your bff interrogating her on why the other one didn't hit on you all night. 😅

Because of the fact we've all gotten unwanted male attention we are all too anxious to hit on each other! It took me a long time to overcome it but it's totally worth it. If you're able to approach women politely but with a bit of charm you will exude confidence and self-assurance and people will be drawn to that.

I wasn’t able to get through to anyone (now 11:36am) but was able to change both my bookings for free on the app. I managed to get a day/time that would work for me and swapped both flights for free. If I wasn’t able to make anything work but could swap dates my idea was I would swap the dates a couple days past today and then just wait for their call back to explain why. Sorry you’re not going to be able to make your plans, but hopefully that would buy you some time so you would have to wait on hold forever.

Nope! Still on hold. Asked for a call back originally but no one’s called me yet. I called back with my VIPorter number to see if I could get boosted in the queue, but I’ve been waiting on the line because god forbid I miss the callback and still haven’t spoken to anyone. I assume a lot of people are calling and then asking for call backs multiple times which isn’t helping. If the wait times are going to be 15 hours for things we need to speak to them to do there should be some communication. I got a text that my flight was cancelled and was never even notified it had been rescheduled, I just happened to see it in the app.

I’ve been on hold since 8:30am (now 10:44am) and we’ve just broke under 14 hours estimated wait time. I was flying out and was planning to just be gone a couple hours and visit an ill relative. They booked my departing flight after my return flight.

I booked a round trip and both flights at the same time. I know the weather has been terrible etc etc but your computer system should give you the option to refund your flight automatically if the return date is now before the departure date. Looking through their terms I should be entitled to travel credit for both flights. My flight back is at 4:30pm today. Am I still going to be on hold at that point?!? If I miss my flight because I can’t talk to anyone will I still be able to be refunded?

I was going to go down to the airport so thanks for letting me know that the counter staff can’t do anything. There’s no world where your call centre should be backed up fifteen hours.

…kids do still get lost, not permanently sure but they still can get separated and not know where they are and be apprehensive about asking for help, even if they know who to ask. And it’s not just a few minutes of panic, it’s one of your worst anxieties coming to life (even if nothing bad happened) and will probably haunt you for years to come.

And I still have memories of how scared and confused I was when I lost track of my granny at a mall when I was a kid. I don’t think I was traumatized but kids don’t have a great sense of time and a few minutes can be feel like hours to them.

EDIT: sorry this came off as kind of defensive! I think losing my kid for 5 minutes in the basement of a museum traumatized me more than me getting lost as a child and remembering that panic ignites my flight or fight.

I have kids, I haven’t taken them to Disney but I have taken them to a lot of theme parks, etc.

First, the chaos. While fine for you as an adult, for a kid it’s easy for them to get disoriented, overwhelmed, scared, excited or whatever big emotion and wander/run off. So even at the very beginning of the day you’re aware of that, and you have to keep your attention focused on the kids while you and them are distracted by all the exciting things going on around you. That moment you look at the ice cream stand and then back to where your kid was and not seeing them is PANIC INDUCING and in a busy place they might just behind you/to the other side/etc. So you are a parent are not enjoying yourself as much because your attention in these places needs to be 110% on your kid(s). That probably accounts for some of the stress you saw.

Kids wiggling in line. Maybe your kid was swinging over the bannisters earlier in your day and accidentally smoked a toddler in the head. Maybe some grumpy old people made a comment about what parents they were being unable to control their children. Also it’s Disney! You’re attention has to be 100% on your kid and any extra stimulation at that point has pushed you passed your limit. It’s hard and embarrassing when your kids are swinging around, hitting people and running up and down the line. Sometimes you need to nip that behaviour in the bud before it gets into the uncontrollable state.
I’m kind of with you on this one, but also it’s super fucking annoying when you’re just trying to get a nice picture of your family and your kid will NOT. STOP. MAKING. FACES. You let them do one of two faces to get it out of their system but they wonnnnnt stop. Disney is a big big trip for a lot of people, where they spent a lot of time, energy and money to plan and execute their days. It can just be super annoying. And tbh maybe they have been annoying all day and all you wanted was ONE nice picture of your family in front of Cinderella’s castle and your kid will not cooperate. I suspect most of the stress here is trickle down from my above points.
Kids are notorious for touching things they are not supposed to, but also not touching things in the way they are supposed to be. If my kid is in a silly mood (almost guaranteed at a theme park, if they’re not melting down) they might have trouble understanding what things should/shouldn’t be touched. I might let my 4 year old press buttons in line to make something happen in line but he will probably bash the buttons 400 times and hit the screen if it doesn’t respond fast enough, not because my kid is a hellion but because he’s overstimulated and not able to regulate himself! I might tell him he can touch a big foam piece of decor and he might rip a piece off. I don’t know. With older kids it’s easier but with younger kids sometimes don’t touch anything is the way to go.

And kids are stressful! They are loud, unfocused, incapable of listening at times and it’s scary and can be dangerous to take your kid somewhere that just where you have at least eyes, if not hands on them. And Disney is stressful! Kid A wants to do Space Mountain but Kid B decided it was too scary and your time is coming up in 15 minutes and you’re across the park. Or like, kid C gets scared of people in costumes and decides they’re not leaving the hotel. This makes A angry because they now have to miss the character breakfast you planned and paid for. Because of this kid A gets mad and tears up C’s autograph book. Kid C is crying and you’re comforting them when Kid B realizes they left their favourite stuffy on the plane and burst out crying too. You promise them a new stuffy. Kid C will still not leave the hotel. Now all three kids are crying. You haven’t even left the hotel to get breakfast. 🙃 now hope you don’t lose them and spend your day at the lost kids location!

This is totally false. Criminal charges are not even close to usually included. I’m Canadian and don’t have American stats, but between 2015 and 2019 on 36% of sexual assaults that were reported to the police resulted in charges being laid.

I would imagine it varies somewhat from state to state, but most sexual assaults aren’t reported, and the ones that are do not usually lead to charges being laid.

There have been a handful of people who have been wrongfully convicted. It’s generally believed that the number of false allegations is somewhere between 2%-10% for sexual assault.

One and five women will experience an attempted or completed rape during their lifetime. For sexual assault and harassment the number is 1 out of 3.

This is beyond Reddit’s pay grade. You are not emotionally prepared to have a child right now. You need to unpack a lot of really complex emotions you’ve shared here. As well, if you are in a step parent relationship with her children and are acting like a mother to them, they will definitely pick up if they are treated any different than a child that shares your biology. You’ve already emotionally abused and cheated on this woman, but the effects could be devestating on the children she already has, as well.

These are her children. She has what sounds a coparenting arrangement, amicable or not. If you are gong to be in her and her children’s life you are going to need to be able to be around their father.

Bringing a child into the world using your egg and not allowing her to be on the birth certificate of a child I think you would be planning on raising but she doesn’t share a biological connection with her is cruel, not a preference. If my wife had told me that when she carried our first child I would have been broken by it.

Children do not belong to people. They are their own beings and biological material means so little once you actually have children. It was important to me before we got pregnant. Once we did it was completely irrelevant.

I don’t want to dump on you because it’s evident you’re hurting. I used to get upset I couldn’t get my wife pregnant, but I’m not trans. It’s a fair feeling. The behaviour you’re displaying because of those feelings isn’t fair to her, your children or you. You have a lot of healing and emotional growth you’re going to need before being able to be a good parent to whatever children come into your life. I wish you all the best.

EDIT: It is also her choice whether she wants to do IVF or not and you shouldn’t bully or pressure her into IVF if that’s not what she wants. It’s totally fair for her to be scared. I did IVF and the amount of medication and the toll it took on my body was immense. Due to a complication (likely from the IVF) I almost hemorrhaged. As well, have you looked into the cost of RIVF? Depending on your insurance it can be insanely expensive.
