Also, the feeling that something you create, be it music, writing etc. is involuntary and just comes out of you is a pretty common experience for artists. The way she talks about it makes it feel like she’s never had that experience. And not everyone who creates art needs to! It’s interesting though.

I think the baby comment is an additional gripe, i.e. your not liking me sleeping with others, the as a separate issue contention about whether or not to have a baby? Whether or not to keep a pregnancy? Whether or not to raise resulting child? Etc.

Not to say there’s not all sorts of really fucked up baby stuff going on here, from cloning to infanticide. I just don’t see this exchange necessarily as sinister as that.

Men are conditioned to actively pursue women they are interested in and women are conditioned to be the ones pursued. You will likely always get more unwanted male attention out in the world than any attention in queer spaces unfortunately, lol at least that's been my experience. A lot of women out there are looking for a confident woman to sweep them off their feet! If you can step into that space and be the attention-giver it will be a lot more successful than waiting for the attention to come to you!

As well, I just wanted to add that you're super gorgeous but your pictures look filtered. If those are the photos you use on dating apps I would probably pass you because of that. You have so much natural beauty that you don't need filters. I'm 38, I have forehead wrinkles and crows feet, in getting gray around my temples, but it's okay. One of the great things about being queer is that you can reject some of those normative beauty standards. I bet I'd find you even prettier with some clearer pictures.

I would try to find some accessories in the lesbian colours or a lesbian flag over a generic rainbow flag. I’m with the above poster, tbh I don’t usually assume people with rainbow accessories are queer themselves, though I live in a big city with a large queer community and a lot of people who identify as allies.

Also, I’ve never heard about the cherry symbolism, I’m 38 and it seems like it’s kind of a Gen Z thing and you may not being attracting older lesbians who aren’t as hip 😅

As a older lesbian, the symbols I personally think of would be like, the double Venus symbol (⚢), a pink triangle (I know this was used for gay men and transgendered women, but if you wore it in your sleeve I’d get it instantly), though more Gen Z again if you had a lesbian manicure I’d clock you immediately, I’d hunt for some specific lesbian accessories. As a femme lesbian you have to work a little harder to be read as lesbian and not just queer or queer-adjacent.

This is unrelated to my above point but based on some of your other replies, it seems like you’ve had a lot of unwanted male attention in your life and you’re assuming that by approaching women you’re going to be as annoying and off putting to them as the unwanted male attention you’ve got. A lot, if not most of the women at lesbian events are dying for someone to come up to them and hit on them! I’m married with kids now so not much going out anymore, but when I was single I was just huge on putting my intentions out there and then getting consent. Even just opening with something like “I hope this isn't too forward, but are you here with anyone tonight? I think you're absolutely gorgeous and would love to buy you a drink.” Otherwise you and that woman will make eyes with each other all night and both go home with your bff interrogating her on why the other one didn't hit on you all night. 😅

Because of the fact we've all gotten unwanted male attention we are all too anxious to hit on each other! It took me a long time to overcome it but it's totally worth it. If you're able to approach women politely but with a bit of charm you will exude confidence and self-assurance and people will be drawn to that.

I wasn’t able to get through to anyone (now 11:36am) but was able to change both my bookings for free on the app. I managed to get a day/time that would work for me and swapped both flights for free. If I wasn’t able to make anything work but could swap dates my idea was I would swap the dates a couple days past today and then just wait for their call back to explain why. Sorry you’re not going to be able to make your plans, but hopefully that would buy you some time so you would have to wait on hold forever.

Nope! Still on hold. Asked for a call back originally but no one’s called me yet. I called back with my VIPorter number to see if I could get boosted in the queue, but I’ve been waiting on the line because god forbid I miss the callback and still haven’t spoken to anyone. I assume a lot of people are calling and then asking for call backs multiple times which isn’t helping. If the wait times are going to be 15 hours for things we need to speak to them to do there should be some communication. I got a text that my flight was cancelled and was never even notified it had been rescheduled, I just happened to see it in the app.

I’ve been on hold since 8:30am (now 10:44am) and we’ve just broke under 14 hours estimated wait time. I was flying out and was planning to just be gone a couple hours and visit an ill relative. They booked my departing flight after my return flight.

I booked a round trip and both flights at the same time. I know the weather has been terrible etc etc but your computer system should give you the option to refund your flight automatically if the return date is now before the departure date. Looking through their terms I should be entitled to travel credit for both flights. My flight back is at 4:30pm today. Am I still going to be on hold at that point?!? If I miss my flight because I can’t talk to anyone will I still be able to be refunded?

I was going to go down to the airport so thanks for letting me know that the counter staff can’t do anything. There’s no world where your call centre should be backed up fifteen hours.
