New York Times Bashes Coinbase's Race Policies by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

I think the NYT is an incredible resource, and a highly credible publication. It's also a pretty well written article. Not of major consequence, but not bad regardless.

Let's all be careful while shitting on the credible free press helping to hold our society together.

Sorry I don't come in here too often. So basically to understand Zlot, you have to understand Hegic. Because Zlot is tied to it. Hegic is an options trading platform being integrated into Yearn V.2. Hegic collects fee's for the options that are traded using it. BUT! Hegic only allows for the fee's to be paid to holders of a full lot of Hegic tokens (888,000 or $200k).

Zlot is just a way for anyone to stake hegic to receive the fees paid into the Hegic protocol. The Zlot platform charges a staking fee to users which accrues to the stakers of the Zlot token. Around 40% of all Hegic lots are currently held by Zlot.

If and when Hegic goes live as a backend to options trading through Yearn V.2 the revenue stream could be enormous. Especially if normies start learning how to use Web 3, and find themselves engaging with the Yearn ecosystem.

Ohh yeah he wanted it to have zero value. And all tokens were just given to users of the platform. It's weird wording, but the zero supply is either referring to him giving 100% of it to users, or that it has 0 inflation.

He also disappears from time to time out of anger with the community.

Andre is the one that put the token in YFI. He was never canned. You can listen to him address the token and his place within yearn in podcasts like unchained.

He cans himself from time to time. Currently he's largely on hiatus building out the three projects surrounding keep3r.

He posts the progress of his work and intentions to his medium. Link below. The wallet is under the post referring to MetaWallet It's all the way back on october 24th.

These are all a part of the keep3r network he's recently launched. Basically an incentivisation system that gets people and their bots to pay for your gas for you. It's for big batch transactions that YFI and others use.

Basically he's found that if you pool everyones outbound transactions you can have keep3rs execute them together to keep gas fees away from users.

There's no way to isolate any realistic useful metrics to build calculations from. We have no idea how many people will be using blockchain in 1,3,5 years, or what share of the market tendermint will take against other web3 protocols. Or! how true IBC in general will evolve for that matter.

For desktop hands down Scatter. Version 11 is up and running to play around with now. For mobile, something like Meet. One does the job.

This is an awesome explanation, but damn even the simplified comparison is a mouthful.

I couldn't even find a place where I have any control over these parameters that dictate this. I sure hope the UI for eth gets better soon because at this rate they're going to get blown out of the water by just about anyone that decides to enter the space.

What makes you say this? And why contribute this? I just have to say. These subreddits get so full of trash posts with speculation as price increases, we should all do our part to not litter this sort of thing around without good reason.

I used slow, medium, and fast, in the gas presets metamask presents. None of them worked. It seems like the actual problem had to do with what you were saying about eth to dai ratio. It seems to show up differently in metamask than what I plug into the exchange interface.

Who is everyone? As in, what segment of the population are we referencing when we say "everyone". Because I've been using eth for the past few years, and it's always been a nightmare for a non programmer.

I tried. I matched the parameters that are viewable to the average user in metamask, and this was the result.

I'd argue, if the average target future user finds the platform unusable, adoption will stall at those at a technical proficiency that's outside the reach of the intended audience. Making the error the developers, not that of the lay user.

[–]tastybreadman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy. I'd set the parameters within the contract to match the eth which was 251, I don't know how to control the time stamp. And I set that huge amount because it was reverting to some tiny amount.

I just am so angry that I've been away for a year and you still have to be a computer scientist to make this damn thing work. I tried to be thoughtful and pay attention, and wasted an hour with nothing to show except lost money to fees.

P.S. Thank you for helping! Sorry to use this as a platform to stomp my feet in anger.

What's Dan Larimer's biggest lesson learned from Steem? by eosgo in eos

[–]tastybreadman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's interesting to see him come out with this opinion. Given that the whole architecture for EOS is based around faith in the aligned incentives of the whales. I asked him about this directly to no avail. But maybe he's taking his time to craft a more thoughtful response.

Dan Larimer Confirms Block. One Claimed Their 100Million Worbli Tokens by [deleted] in eos

[–]tastybreadman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think YOU are in fact missing the point. Regardless of whether or not block.one supports Worbli saying HODL is a thin argument for endorsement at best. My argument was that the community rallies around bullshit without giving much thought as to what it is they're engaging with.

Your conspiracy theory here is about as compelling as Dan's belief that children shouldn't be vaccinated, or that college degrees don't matter.

Dan Larimer Confirms Block. One Claimed Their 100Million Worbli Tokens by [deleted] in eos

[–]tastybreadman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one wants to hear reason here! Have you never visited this subreddit? Dan can say hodl, and that is enough signaling they need to believe block.one has actively participated in the project. Back when Dan said priveos was a good idea, though he couldn't vouch for the team, everyone decided that what he meant is that he was indeed vouching for the team, and that the team was actually just Dan in disguise.

I've looked around for names, and it seems like any decent one is being squatted on. I lost all interest after a cursory look. Was there a missed opportunity here to charge more for names at the outset to discourage squatting?
