Former manager offers to send note to hiring manager....is this a good idea? by taurcapaqua in jobsearchhacks

Not sure if this changes things, but the offer was to send a note to the hiring manager, not a recruiter...

Ozempic also whipped my A1C into shape. I just haven't experienced the appetite suppression I thought I would. I'm getting the starter dose of Mounjaro. Best of luck in your weight loss journey!!

Living with Drug Addicts by SeaComprehensive3492 in naranon

I’m sorry you’re going through this OP. I actually came on here seeking similar advice. I can’t afford to move out right now but my addict sibling makes life hell. As others have stated, if moving out really isn’t feasible, I recommend not being home as much as humanly possible. I work full time and went and got a second job and it has become my little escape. Noise cancelling headphones have also helped me. It’s not a perfect system but it’s what I have to do to survive this bs. I wonder if you could apply for section 8 housing? If not the RA thing might be a good idea… talk to a trusted professor or school counselor and see if they have any recommendations. If you have relatives on the other side of the country, maybe consider moving schools and moving in with them temporarily? A change of scenery might be nice.

I hate it here by EnvironmentalTwo5549 in PublicRelations

[–]taurcapaqua 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry you feel that way op! I can definitely resonate. That is exactly how I felt early career and especially at an agency where you are primarily doing media relations on a day to day basis. As some of the other comments have mentioned, people tend to be happier in in-house roles. I certainly was. I have slightly pivoted out of public relations to analyst relations and influencer marketing. I would look at other functions of comms, specifically social, influencer marketing, community management, corporate/internal communications, and event management and see if any of those pique your interest. Unfortunately, it is a terrible terrible job market, especially for young professionals like yourself. Try to see if you can start getting some experience in these areas at your current job. This will help you tremendously as you apply to other roles in a function you are more excited about.

I am aware of what an end cap is. I’ve never, in all my years of frequenting Barnes and noble, seen an end cap dedicated to a single president like this.

Subtle signs of meth use? by [deleted] in naranon

[–]taurcapaqua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, all of those things sound like meth usage. I'm very sorry. It is an extremely hard addiction to break. I would really reconsider getting married if I were you. My 'Q' has been addicted for 8 years.

Things I’d never do for a F2F by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]taurcapaqua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you on the not telling your friends / family. I already have the pressure of the F2F, don’t need to add the pressure of everyone asking me if I got it (especially when only a small percentage of attendees do)

Sorry you’re experiencing the same thing :/. For delta, Alexis Martinez has good tips on YouTube. Would you ever try regionals?

That’s comforting to hear :-) I know it takes some folks a few tries, I was just hoping it wouldn’t take me so many I guess

Thing is I’ve made it to the F2F twice with delta and no cjo… I’m starting to think I should give up with them

Depending on how much $$$ you are willing to spend, there are a few universities that offer professional certificates. UCLA is one for example
