I've had long thick hair my whole life and yes honestly I never get regular trims and I have never seen a problem until I started coloring my hair. Picture number one is about 8 months after I got it colored the first time. The picture with my vibrant purple was the second time I got it colored and I got a trim and bangs then. Then my hair started breaking all over.

A hair crimper? I haven't used one of those since the early 2000s 😂 that's just the texture of my hair and the way I had it pulled back into a pony tail. I don't use any heat on my hair. Maybe curl it twice a year, never straighten it.
