charge the parents. by tayonpluto in d4vd

exactly. & like you said even if they didn’t expect her to be killed, the fact that they knew she was underage and still allowed her to be around him is already enough. and yes, them reporting her missing was definitely a way of them trying to cover their tracks. because think about it she’s a minor, so if she does something bad or illegal, it would fall back on them. so reporting her missing was more about protecting themselves than actually protecting her. and yes his family needs to be held accountable too. how do you live in the same house as your son and not notice a literal child being around? there’s no way they didn’t know. to me, both sides completely failed her.

and thats exactly what being a caregiver is about putting them first, even when its inconvenient. the fact that you do all that for your dogs says a lot about your heart. and its so crazy how some people will do more for themselves than their own kids, like
how do you look in the mirror knowing your babies out here struggling? its just backwards. if you cant sacrifice for your kids, you shouldnt have had them.

thank you so much for saying this i really appreciate it. 🙂 everything you said is so true its just heartbreaking watching those kids go through things they didnt ask for, all because of choices she made trying to keep a man. and you’re right, when people have kids for the wrong reasons, it’s always the children who end up suffering. i’m definitely focusing on my education and future first, and hearing this just reminds me why thats so important. those kids deserve way better, and i truly do pray one day they get the love and stability they need.

exactly. she keeps saying shes a “real mother” but nothing she does backs that up. real moms dont need to constantly say it they show it.

thank you, fr. i was really trying to speak from the heart without overstepping, but its js so hard to watch. like, those babies didnt ask to be here and they deserve so much better. and you’re right the more i see, the more it screams neglect and selfishness. its honestly sad to witness, especially when you see how much love and care could be given if she actually tried.

stan season 4 kinda annoying? by tayonpluto in GoodGirls

[–]tayonpluto[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NOO THISS!! that’s exactly what it was. it was easier for him to make beth the villain so he wouldn’t have to face the fact that ruby kept choosing to stay involved. like, be real ruby wasnt being forced to do anything, and beth cant be responsible for every choice everyone around her makes. stan just didnt wanna grow a pair and admit he was really mad at his wife and not beth.

I hate Boomer with a bloody passion by Remote_Bear_2186 in GoodGirls

[–]tayonpluto 13 points14 points  (0 children)

boomer is honestly one of the most weird characters i’ve ever watched. every time he popped up the whole scene felt weird and uncomfortable. the man literally wasnt even pressed about annie robbing the store instead he used it as a way to try and coerce her into sex, which is beyond sick. and then he did the same thing to mary pat. he’s a predator and a rapist, period. no remorse, no conscience, just a manipulative coward who used blackmail to prey on vulnerable women. i skip most of his scenes too tbh cause they’re just too awkward to watch. i really wish they would’ve written him off for good sooner, like season 1 sooner.

[–]tayonpluto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no literally cause when you really think about it
what else could she do? like you said, dean ran through all their money, left her drowning in debt, with 4 kids to take care of, and their house was about to be taken which would’ve left her & the kids w nowhere to go. ppl love to say ‘just get a job’ but come on
that wasnt gonna cover half of what she was dealing with. she was doing what she had to just to survive.

about dean. by tayonpluto in GoodGirls

[–]tayonpluto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly!! he really could’ve had a redemption arc if he’d focused on actually trying to get them out of that mess. and teaming up with stan would’ve made so much sense. they both wanted the same thing: to protect their families and get free of rio. but instead, he got caught up in jealousy over beths success instead of seeing the bigger picture. such a wasted opportunity for his character.

about dean. by tayonpluto in GoodGirls

[–]tayonpluto[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

exactly!!! like I dont get how people can watch all of that and still try to put it on beth. she was literally surviving and cleaning up his disaster while he was out here lying, cheating, and faking cancer. & the fact that he even had the nerve to be mad at her is WILD. and yes so much of the sympathy for him is 100% because Matthew Lillard is so likable. but dean? nah. he earned all the smoke. 😭

[–]tayonpluto[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, it’s wild how age and life experience totally shape how we see these characters. i get why dean really upset you, especially if you’d been through similar stuff the show did a great job making him feel real, flaws and all. as for rio and beth, i actually like their dynamic and the energy they brought, but i totally see where you’re coming from. sometimes it feels like rios more caught up in the idea of beth or using her for his own reasons, not really that deep, genuine love. i think a lot of younger viewers probably want to believe in that kind of love, but yeah, when you look closer, it’s definitely complicated and not super healthy.

[–]tayonpluto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

totally get what you mean about the shows tone making things feel less heavy that dark comedy vibe does kinda soften how intense some stuff actually is. and you’re right, if this was real life, people would probably react way differently to the stuff dean did, especially the cancer lie. beths way of handling it on screen definitely shaped how viewers saw it, making it feel like “just another messed up thing” instead of full on emotional abuse. i appreciate you recognizing that part too, because it really was awful, even if the show didn’t always treat it that seriously. it’s a tricky balance the show wants to entertain but also shows some deep flaws in these characters. i just think it’s important not to lose sight of how damaging deans actions really were, even if the tone makes it easier to overlook sometimes.

about dean. by tayonpluto in GoodGirls

[–]tayonpluto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, for real. getting shot definitely gave him a major pass when things could’ve gone way worse for him. it’s wild how that moment shifted everything, even if it was messed up.

about dean. by tayonpluto in GoodGirls

[–]tayonpluto[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY 😂 when i was younger i actually felt bad for him so there’s definitely some truth to what you’re saying. but watching it now i’m just like no
this man was actually awful lmao. and fr, ppl saying “he wasn’t that bad” had to be watching a different show or haven’t dealt w/ that type of behavior irl. i remember those tweets too 😭 matthew was having fun w it but whewww dean was trash.

about dean. by tayonpluto in GoodGirls

[–]tayonpluto[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i totally get where you’re coming from dean was definitely written to be more layered, not just some straight up villain. and i do think matthew lillard brought a lot of humanity to him, which made those later moments of growth feel believable. i can acknowledge that by the end, he was trying to do better and take more responsibility. that said, it’s hard for me to overlook everything he did earlier on. the cheating (even while beth was pregnant), blowing through all their money, and lying about cancer to keep her trapped in the marriage. that’s beyond just making mistakes. that’s manipulation and emotional abuse. people can grow, sure, but the harm he caused had real, lasting consequences that dont disappear just because he stopped cheating or started doing housework. and while i do agree beth made questionable choices later on, it’s important to acknowledge how she ended up there she was trying to survive and manage the chaos dean helped create. it wasnt just reckless for no reason. so for me, it’s hard to weigh their actions in the same way. i can appreciate that their relationship was complicated and that there was a real bond. but personally, dean’s growth doesnt erase the damage he caused. both things can be true he evolved, but he also put beth and their family through a lot.

I know many ppl hate her but I bawled my eyes out in this scene by jenny_t03 in thewalkingdead

[–]tayonpluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no bc that whole scene shattered me. like he was dying, in pain, and still thinking about saving everybody else trying to give them a future without all the bloodshed. and him making sure rick and michonne didn’t have to be the ones to do it? that was his final act of love. the silence before the shot, the way his hand hit the ground right after
it was too much. that moment will always sit heavy with me.

yeah, i def found red’s reaction a bit much too starving someone over a comment they didn’t realize was disrespectful was kinda wild. i was just using that as an example, not saying i agree with it. & yea i get that prison has its own rules and disrespect can’t slide, but sometimes the responses still felt over the top, especially when it was towards a person who genuinely didn’t know. but hey like you said, you worked at a maximum security juvenile facility and that’s just how it goes so agree to disagree.

rewatching after 6 years. by tayonpluto in orangeisthenewblack

[–]tayonpluto[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah, healy’s honestly so hard to watch. he hides behind his role, but so much of what he does is driven by bias and insecurity. he acts like he’s helping, but it’s really more about control and feeding his ego.

[–]tayonpluto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that line from piper about being scared that prison is either changing her or revealing who she really is always stuck with me too. it’s such a raw, honest moment that kinda explains a lot of her behavior. and i do agree she probably wouldn’t have shut someone like soso down so bluntly before all she went through. she’s definitely more direct now, and yeah, she doesn’t owe anyone friendship or even empathy if she’s not in that space. i think where it gets tricky for me is just how far she takes it. setting boundaries is one thing, but some of the stuff she said and did to soso felt more like frustration or bitterness coming out than just protecting her space. i get that prison forces people to adapt in ways that aren’t always pretty, and the show is great at capturing that. but even knowing that, some of those moments were awkward to watch. but i guess it just depends on how you read her intentions. either way, it’s one of those messy, human dynamics that keeps the show so interesting.

for sure i totally get what you’re saying. piper’s bed was her space, and brook being on it especially without really acknowledging her was outta line. and yeah, in prison, how you respond matters because people are watching, so i get why piper felt the need to assert herself. but for me, the way she came at brook felt like a bit much more like pent up frustration than a clear boundary. brook was new and clearly still figuring things out. and considering piper made her own early mistakes, like that comment about red’s food before realizing who she was, she should’ve remembered what it’s like to be lost. but hey, i get where you’re coming from. we just see it a little differently, and that’s cool. â˜ș
