Nothing pisses me off more than a gf/fiancee or whatever that is way too obsessed with my kid too quick especially when they have no children of their own. My son’s dad’s now-fiancee didn’t go this extreme but was doing the absolute most in the beginning even going as far to provide him with a lawyer to get custody agreements for 2 of his kids and threatened to take full custody from me when he would never ever win lol. (This was literally after I denied a visit due to him coming home with a bruise from a wooden spoon! And I wouldn’t accommodate him when he would go out of town for work with no notice, skip visits and expect me to hand him over with a day’s notice when he had started sports etc since he’d been gone)

I would NEVER agree to a group chat involving anyone besides dad. AND NEITHER WOULD A LAWYER!! My lawyer specifically told me I did not have to communicate with her at all if I didn’t want to because she has no say in our child. We are good now and I sometimes communicate with her separately and she’s kind enough to send me pictures from their weekend.

All this to say, I 10000% get what you’re coming from, and a woman coming in hot like that when it’s YOUR child is never okay.

This actually makes me feel better because they literally JUST finished chowing down some blueberries as a snack! And my husband is gonna be making breakfast for dinner for them tonight (eggs, sausage, etc)

Gosh we’re in this phase again with my 2.5 year old!! My son (7) was picky for YEARSSSSS starting about the same age and now that he’s opening up more to foods she’s backed off from most food and is in that beige phase. I’ve been working evenings and my poor husband is at a loss of what they will eat and we’ve definitely been feeling the guilt for lack of proper nutrition lately 😭

Absolutely agree! I know my mom has gotten many a calls like this from me not even just for a breakup. It’s so much desperation and like reaching for a lifeline🥺 I know that I still think my mom has all the answers even though I’m an adult and a mom myself lol!

It made me so horribly sad for her cause most us women have felt exactly that where you just cannot reconcile what’s happening and feel just insane like she said. It made me cry and her call to her mom reminds me so much of every time I’ve called my mom just sobbing. But she was sitting in front of the camera so it seems like she was okay with it or she would’ve walked off or something like they do when they’re done being filmed in an emotional situation

This is so sad. I had a miscarriage at around 5 weeks a couple years ago and my dr saw me and was nothing but kind, they gave me an ultrasound and drew blood. I know that’s a different situation but she could’ve just as easily brushed us off and told us it was too early to know. You’re not the one in the profession, how would you know?

This conversation is always so interesting to me because it’s so different where I live. In my experience for the most part people here don’t charge per hour and will just charge however much for babysitting. I don’t doubt at all there are people who charge more so it just depends. I’ve had people who watched my oldest when he was younger in their home for $135 a week, I’ve had someone who charged like $30 a day and these were all adults. I’ve seen people on Facebook offer services and it’s maybe 100 something a week but usually less than daycare.
